you put this kind of crap free on craigslist and some sad sonofab picks it up within half an hour. just list it somewhere else or at an intersection or something so you dont get hassled by scavengers

I know you guys like to think that you're doing the planet good by recycling. Here's what really happens.
![]() It goes to Africa, some people burn it while others pick out broken parts, people breathe the **** in, along with the heavy metals and other **** companies used in electronics. |

Make it into a fish tank.
Sadly, its still cheaper to just dump everything in a hole and cover it up. I recycle because the garbage can fills up slower. |

yeah does it?
you mean all the cool kids are going BACK to v8s. i mean, Elizas tourareg had a v8 in it even. i'm actually working on something that's making me pretty damned excited about ~450whp turbo EJ25s again. also i just fixed the clunking on my PSS9s with... spacers from hard drive platters.. yeah. |

there's a step the upper spring perch is supposed to sit on, but it's machined wrong so it doesn't fit on it correctly, and so over time it deforms the aluminum upper perch, and klunks at really low speed, just rocking back and forth like 10 thou.. had a box with some aluminum ring spacers from old HDDs found a pair that fit perfectly. raises the car ~1/8" by way of removing that available travel too, but i think i'll live. may just turn down the front perches to compensate, but then i'm down 1/4" on travel where there isn't much left.1.5~2" of compression before the bumpstop?
1st gen CTS-V seems really nice but i'm looking at C32AMGs. supercharged and intercooled v6, AMG and 10~12k for a nice one. headers, pulley and tune gets you ~450hp. my biggest problem is they have an open diff.. what do they go for at auction? |

Upkeep is expensive on the c 32 for us mere mortals that have to use a shop. Rotors and pads are about 600 installed for instance. The cars are stupid rare as well. Still this is a viable alternative but I will take displacement and the simplicity of a ls6 or 7. Maybe I will supercharge it one day but I doubt it. Most likely will keep it until an 09 is within reach. I have decided to wait until I get Stacy a nicer car first though. Not fair for me to buy a hot rod caddie when I get to drive caddies for free. I am content to putter along with the direct injected 3.6L cts v for the near future. 312 chp is not awful. |

auto trans doesnt' bother me much.. does it do burnouts? does it allow me to dispatch puntaz with ease? does it allow me to do so with one hand or let my wife do the driving instead? can it pick up my parents from the airport in relative pleasantness? or at least relative silence? could i possibly send my brother to do it instead of me? will it jiggly my wifes boobs till they hurt on a trip of any length? will it let me dispense of the 3+ pt turn?
these are my concerns, and why a real diff is the greatest of them. edit: the benzo trans is pretty damned good. Last edited by glhs377; 08-05-2012 at 05:58 PM. |

Jason..well said !! I don't mind shifting but if I have a wide tq band that starts well under 2500 rpm I can do without it. Definitely not a deciding factor. I left some bait in this post but as it was missed/ignored I will remove it. Last edited by Tenacious Bee; 08-05-2012 at 11:15 PM. |
