But starting Sept. 1, online retailers with a physical presence in the state will have to pay at least 6 percent sales tax for items purchased by Pennsylvanians.
I thought this was always the case.

I should have made my point a little more clear.

If a retailer purchases a part from a few of the larger east coast distributors that are located in PA then the retailer is required to pay sales tax. So since IIR gets parts from distributors in pa they are required to collect sales tax when parts are sold to customers in PA.

So if you purchase parts off ebay, amazon, overstock.com, they are required to pay sales tax to PA now.

Do I have to pay sales tax if buying from http://www.maperformance.com?

I am no tax expert, but from what I understand if they purchase parts from a distributer in pa then they have to pay the sales tax once those parts are sold to a customer in pa

Technically, their business address is not located in PA. I wonder if that means they 'have no physical presence' in PA.

I believe this is correct. If the actual seller is in PA then tax should have always been collected. If the seller is an online retailer based in another state who has a distribution center in the state "physical presence", then tax will now be collected upon transaction. If a seller is in another state and the product is distributed from them via another state, tax will not be collected upon transaction. But it is still technically due to the state from the purchaser. There was a form with this years state tax return to voluntarily report and pay. Luckily I did not buy anything online all year .

I don't think it's "Voluntary" you are supposed to pay state sales tax on every purchase you make. You are also NOT supposed to pay state sales tax on anything you buy out of state, but you are, instead, supposed to report it to your state and pay the tax to them.

I could totally be wrong here though.

The reason I say "voluntary" is because until big brother gets his chance to monitor us closer, they have no easy way to prove what, where, and when I am buying items online. This year was on the honor (sucker) system.

It sure could. I'd move tomorrow. Trade my caddy and Z for a pickup and dirt bike and never sit at a desk again.

Speaking of desks, let's be homosexual and post pictures of our desks! I'll start...

IB_I've got a few pictures of your mom that involve a desk but it's NSFW.

No. My two pet dogs are rescues and I grew up in the woods. It wouldn't be a huge stretch.

My home "Desk" looks a lot like my couch these days. And my home computer looks a lot like a 7" tablet.

I get enough computer at work

Right monitor is dedicated Nasioc screen.

Working for a cable company means we have to constantly 'monitor' various channels and test our DVR boxes, etc.

My desk is actually like a letter "C" and kinda encircles me, I like desktop space.

Blinden, I haven't found a good use for this Nexus 7. It makes forum trolling not as simple so if I want to make a real post, I need to do it with a computer (copying images, etc). I don't do enough one-way content consumption (movies, books, magazines, etc) to warrant such a thing.

You guys have some serious desks going on! I also have two full computers on my desk in my office.....but only one is currently funtional. There is two monitors though, so it looks just as good the rest!

Anyway, here's a quick pic from Sunday's photoshoot at our new shop. Edwin Shaw was the man behind the design for his shoot and we provided the location. They brought 7 models, 2 Porsche turbo cars (one that we provided), a Lambo LP-560, a 911 Carrera, Porsche GT3, an Audi R8 V10, a Lotus Exige S and a Lotus Elise. More high res pics coming this week.

Yeah, I do a lot of reading on it, I have to get pretty fired up about something to actually right out a post on it, but when I do, I speech to text, it works amazingly well.

I work 10 hour shifts, by the time I'm done at work, I really don't want to do much computing.

In other news, my wrists have been KILLING me lately, I think I might be getting carpal tunnel

I need a driver-side fog housing for a 2008-2009 legacy. Does anybody local have one laying around?
