Damn, makes me miss the bee. Needs more black lol! Never again. If I get another Subaru it will be an Sti. No more motor and tranny swaps. I may take a ride up to that vw deal tomorrow. Just to look that car over. It is like ten minutes away from where I work.

anyone have a Sti style turbo laying around? my HTA68 started making some ting ting noises and that's not good. FP stopped production of the 68 and moved the 71 and I believe there is a substantial wait time for those still... Don't know what i'm going to do, but i need to weigh my options

I have no clue as to what you are saying. Oh wait I get it now. I was referring to not buying a wrx and then having to use a chunk of my budget to upgrade the trans. I would be going for like an 05 or so. First thing I would do would be new pistons and to hit you and jason. up for some ring gap info.

I was just poking fun at Subarus saying as long as you own a Subaru you will be doing motor swaps.

I still have a brochure from one of those guys who was going to donate some high speed end mills like that. It works by literally shearing the bonds in the metal and requires that you have 20k rpm spindle speed minimum, or else you just wear it out instantaneously. We had nowhere near the capability to do that.

^That video reminds me of the bridge that used to be at the bottom of Bates Street. I watched several trucks peel the front of their trailers back there. Luckily they were going alot slower than in this video. Bridge is replaced and higher now though.

Ha ha there is a low one by medic 9 in homewood i have seen a few trucks get stuck under. They can usually let air out of the tires and get out.

i love that vid!

so i just spent ~an hour re-working some flashing on my roof. i'm actually really loving the tile roof, that was easy. and like, the 2nd time i needed to do anything to my 90yr old tile roof in the past 7 years. first time i had a roofer that did tiles, was really reasonable, a didn't show up and leave, telling me "i'm not going up on that roof!" i had 4 other guys show up and not want to even go up. jackasses didn't even unload a ladder! think it was ~$400 to check it out and replace a couple cracked tiles.

my guy retired though. and calling around, nobody does tile roofs anymore, or they have a 1k minimum, even just to check it out. wtf? if i had the right ladders and a nice big torch, that would've taken 15 mins.

Sounds like the time is right for "Jason's tile roofing repair" to open their doors.
