Anyone here had luck with buffing fine scratches out of their windshield? The scratches are so fine you can't really feel them but you can seem them in certain angles. Most probably from operating a dirty wiper blade etc.

My brother got some pretty heavy scratches out of his Acura windshield using a buffer and some rubbing compound.

I'm about to sell a client's home and they left town today. They said they left some stuff at the house and if I wanted anything to take it. So I stopped by today and found some 225/40/18 tires in the garage and a dog gate, which I scooped up.

At a quick glance I thought the tires were Michelin MP Sports, but I just found out they're Milestar ms932's. They retail around $90 brand new so I might be able to get $40 for each of them... Thought I had a nice score

Can someone explain to me why this isn't terrible engineering? it seems like you would want to make an oil change a little easier.

Nevermind, I immediately figured out the answer, they obviously don't want anyone doing this themselves, they want you to pay $300 for the oil change.

Does anyone have a IACV laying around I can use to test to see if mine is bad? Or any experience with the P0519 (Idle control malfunction-Fail safe) code?

On some of the more complex parts I make I use laser sintering because its actually the cheapest production method when you are talking under 100 parts.

In that price range (not laser sintering machines since they start at $300k) the MakerBot 2 is much better anyway: https://store.makerbot.com/replicator2.html

What I don't understand is why you need to cycle 8 qts of new oil, then just dump it.

It probably has something to do with the dry sump and never wanting to let it run dry even though you still have to get the old oil out.

Part of the reason, The Lexus engineer gave me this long scientific reason why they do it and he had me lost lol

And is it just me or do the 08+ wrx brakes suck!?

I'm not hard on them and always perfer to downshift then brake coming to a braking point.
But I've noticed that when you do some spirited driving with some medium braking they really heat up and become quite shaky...
Brakes are still less than half worn with 20k miles and I haven't seen if the rotors are warped or not.

When it's time to replace I might go for that stoptech deal for slotted rotors, hawk pads, and SS lines for around $500.
Anyone ever get that package?
