I can only think of maybe 5 people that haven't (locally). I'm content with 280ish.

how much does that matter when a reliable awd turbo subaru won't have enough power to spin the tires at track speed, and neither will this car with a quaife diff driving it's front wheels? in the subaru track car argument.. FWD is almost a moot point. especially with any 06+ STI with the revised front bias, OR any of the viscous center diffed cars.

also on a cost basis.. how many cars have you seen slide off track into runoff and flip cause of terminal understeer? cars flip when they go sideways vs their vector. not that i condone sliding straight off the track, but it's way more cost effective. note also that street time attack classes top tier FWD vs top tier RWD and AWD are well close. put better tires on the FWD(cause you know, it's a hatch and takes tires small enough to fit an extra set inside way easy) and the drive difference is just a talking point. way more satisfying to beat up on cars with less hp and fwd, than come in with hundreds of HP and fight physics.

and if you want to bring up inherent design flaws lets not get into struts vs a real suspension arrangement where geometrical compromises within the strut design force setup compromises to even use the big power AWD can put down(assuming it lives) as an advantage. struts make a platform far more sensitive in valving, alignment and springrate to the tire used. to the point where swapping from street to track only tires at the track might as well mean swapping struts and alignment at the track as well, if you want to use much of the tires, or have a decent setup and terrible ride when you're not on track. the dual purpose awd strut based car that is GOOD at more than one thing is a complete unicorn and its not like you can even drag race them without a different flavor of the same compromises coming up. which, if you ask me, is more important than what wheels do the driving. on your toys, just pick two wheels to drive, cause it saves hundreds of lbs and that alone lets you do more with less.

look i love my subarus, i'm just not delusional about them, and try and help everyone i give a **** about not live in lala land as well.

tube chassis is the best place to use subarus compact, lightweight and lets be honest, ~500hp limited engine. not in 3300+lb awd chassis.

I thought you were all about showboating (since that's what you can see from the grandstands) a couple pages ago after someone posted that Australian burnout video. Terminal understeer isn't very fun to watch.

This on the other hand is fun to watch, and do:

There is or was a guy selling a chromoly chassis down in VA for 400 bucks. It didn't need much to complete it.

who's tryna build all these big hp subies? aint me.

so yeah i could give a crap about racing. lap times can be fun when your'e out with your friends. but i could imagine not all fun and games if you are slower with better hardware. i wouldn't know about that. either not being slower or not having better hardware, but i do have a good imagination.

not that i'm into drifting either. i'm into engineering solutions and doing some burnouts.

Who's car is this? Looks like you took some pictures at Riverview Park.

This is a couple corners after the hairpin and a couple before the high-speed 'straight'.

You're Honeywell now? I'm Eaton. They bought the company that bought the company that bought our company. No discount on superchargers that I know of tho.
