But if the engine is tuned so much on the ragged edge that less than 1 octane point causes it to go into limp mode, then I feel that is not right for a street car.
I suspect there was more than a single point of octane going on with that gas. I ran Kwik Fill, Valero, Sheetz and so on but only the getgo near my house caused this. Good thing I had the netbook handy to reset the ecu.

Do you think the quality could have more to do with individual stations than the chain? Maybe the integrity of the tanks, maintenance of pumps and hoses, etc? Common policies and delivery logistics within a chain might also lead to similar issues from station to station too.

Just made it home. I could only find some Lucas Octane Boost in some tiny parts store in Chester WV. Started at IAM of 0.9125 (started at 1.0 before I drove 70 miles there this morning). Just checked now and its at 0.86. Didn't top up yet as I didn't see any legit BP or Sunocos on the way. All the values in the table part of Learning View went back to 0.

My experience with Getgo is with Baum Blvd, shadyside, Rt8 just north of Gibsonia, and Rt 19 just south of Bethel.

I just avoid them when I can, and would only get a couple gallons if I cannot.

I don't know about twice, but, yeah, as almost every car online, well overpriced.

I sold it in 2008 with ~75k on it for I think $14k+a 2002 wrx with 115k.

He didn't even mention the Koni shocks and RCE springs, but he did include the +30% horsepower estimates.

This is why I run Cobb's 91 Oct stage 2 map instead of the 93 octane one. Always fillup with 93 as you can only get 91 at some Sunocos around here.

With Sheetz 93 octane and the 93 oct map, my DAM dropped and I did have some limited knock registered. I switched to the 91 octane MAP and only fill up at the Shell in Castle Shannon now. No problems since, DAM is always 16, runs great.

That specific Shell always has the lowest prices. Sometimes it's a good 5 cents cheaper for premium than even GetGo and Sheetz.

GetGo actually uses the same supplier as a whole bunch of companies. They had an issue in Ohio with a diesel holding tank mixing into the 87 tank, and they dropped it at two GetGos and a Sunoco station, and ****ed up a whole bunch of peoples' cars.

I'm told the only difference is the detergents/additive packages, the base fuel is the same though.

That reminds me of that Aston Martin DBR9 instrument panel that was for sale a while back that had all MIL spec stuff. Hot as hell.

On a very unrelated note from the wild opposite end of the spectrum.. it has begun to happen already :

the wing is angled in such a way so it produces drag without downforce. another 10 degrees down and youd get some benefit, 15 degrees and it would be alot better.

I'm no aerospace engineer, but that thing looks like it's actually preparing for liftoff.

yall may not be aerospace engineers, but you can play around with this:
http://www.grc.nasa.gov/WWW/k-12/airplane/foil3.html

and figure out that it does work. i'm still getting like -120lbs of lift at 10 deg and 100mph, with only ~ 15 lbs of drag. which isn't much. not to mention the free stream off the roof there may or may not be angling down. in which case, the angle of attack is steeper already.

but yeah, it looks dumb.

Anyone have a Cobb Catback or a Nameless Axleback with the 5" Mufflers on a 2008+ STi or 2011+ WRX Hatch (quad tip)?

I would really like to hear one or both in person before making a purchase.

Can't comment on the GR, but on my GD, I love the sound of the Cobb! Better than even my old Prodrive.

... but then again, totally different exhaust in a way. Many people love the Nameless too.

I have a larger top mount intercooler i am looking to sell. It would be perfect for an sti with a larger than stock turbo.

Its a TurboXS top mount. I have the clamps and y hose, and the factory bypass valve mounts on it as well.
