Our government blows.

Disgraceful pandering to a lobby group.

Just a reminder that the meet at BWW in Pleasant Hills is tomorrow at 7. Let me know if you are planning to make it and if you are eating so that we can have enough seats for everyone.

I assume this would be a 'you break it you bought it' type of arrangement?

Btw, if anyone needs 2004 WRX sized rotors, I has some. Used and rusty of course, but plenty of material left. They have never been turned or machined and have about 10k on them and one set of pads.

I want to tell you guys about the "TrackCross" that PIRC had last night. It was a REALLY great little event. If you don't like autocross because it's too slow or you have to pick up cones, etc; and/or if you don't want to do track days or time trials because it's too fast, dangerous, hard on your car, expensive etc...THIS EVENT IS FOR YOU. What they did was run the first 8 turns of the North Track like an autocross. You started from a dig at the start/finish line and ran the track like you would during a time trial or whatever with the exception of turn 7 which they made narrower with cones to keep the speeds down some (but frankly, not a lot). It was real laidback. You could run as much or as little as you want. I probably made a dozen runs and I just hungout for about half the time. I have to admit I hate when people say, "If you missed this event, then..." but in this case it's true. If you thought about coming AT ALL and didn't for WHATEVER reason, you straight effed up.

I got the new Konis (my first adjustable shocks! woohoo!) and sway bar on the day before, so I really just wanted to use the event as a test and tune for my new D-Stock setup. But after just 5 runs I felt like I had the car dialed in pretty good. Best time of the first 5 runs was a 43.7. I was pretty happy with that time and didn't feel like I was (safely) leaving a whole lot out there. I went for a ride with a buddy in his CRX and I did pick up a few things I could do differently. I offered a ride along to another WRX guy who was kinda stuck. I ended up dropping some time, to a 43.5. I think just saying what I was doing out loud helped. The very next run I dropped down to a 43.2. Obviously I think I can go faster than that, but that's all the more I felt comfortable pushing. I'm very happy with that time. I think it is pretty damn respectable overall, comparing my times with some other big hitters...like Sam Strano in his Corvette GS (ran a 41.8 I think). I am really really happy with how the car feels and is performing. So a BIG BIG thanks to Moore Performance! I'm sure Ryan is tired of me bugging him, picking his brain, rushing him and generally seeing me. He's been a big help and I can't say enough about Ryan and his crew and shop. Great customer service and prices. I walk out of that place feeling good about my car and giving him my business.

Here are some pics and vids (not mine) to hopefully get some of yinz interested. They are planning on doing another one August 1st...

Josh, how much for that event? My nephew and his brother, as well as myself may be interested in something like that.

It was $60. And like I said you could take as many runs as you could fit in from 4-8 pm. I'm sure a couple people took 2 dozen runs (In fact, guitarman19853 took 25). The next one is August 1st and there is also one planned for September 26th. Right now they're just filling empty spots on their schedule. But judging by how happy the folks from PIRC were about the turnout, I could see it becoming more of a regular thing next year.

Another thing that was nice about it was you were free to ride with other people, have people ride with you, and drive others' cars as much as you wanted.

That sounds doable. Maybe my car will even be done by then.
