i like, no, i goddamned love acceleration. lateral or longitudinal. i just don't like the danger of going over ~120, closed course or not. besides, you need thousand+ HP to pull even .5G of accel over 120mph, i'd rather slow down hard, hit another turn and run it up through some gears to a billion rpm again, and again and again. i'd rather do BRs kart track for an hour than the north course all damned day. regardless of the car. i dont like just sitting there waiting for the needle to go from 90 to 160, no matter how quick it does it. IMHO, THAT is abusing a car.

Hell of a post. Especially this part.

Pretty much sums up how I feel as well. Guess that's why I like the 0-124 mph in 11.xxx seconds thing. I like the feeling of blasting out of a corner at 35,blasting up to 60-70 then back down lather rinse repeat even more. Less strain on the car with no hard launch or redlining each shift....Man am I going to miss my car.

Oh man...looks like my car is about to be sold

that's all mixed feelings man. good luck with your interim. at least you'll get some (more) perspective under your belt.
wife and i were looking at BRZ/FT online. again. it's pretty enticing, and whats funny is: we're totally turned off by the colors available. i want one in just plain white, and wife doesnt like any of the colors. pearl white on any car just makes it look like some giant glow in the dark dildo. pretty much our largest reservation is the colors. if it was 20k, i would've got one and painted it.

Yeah, At least it is going far away. I have a bunch of perspective as it is but I hear you. It was a compilation of my muscle cars and bmw plus a desire for awd that lead me to subaru. well it actually lead me to Audi but I talked myself out of that and decided evo/sti. Then I thought I am going to mod the daylights out of it so go with out of warranty wrx. I will be playing with a few cars on my march back so I may get waylaid and end up posting hre with no subie in sight like Jimmy. A boosted 350z or ls1 swapped 240 have both been high on my want list.

First attempt at putting in a boost gauge in the subaru today resulted in crushing the brass ferrule. Did not have this problem in my thunderbird. So now I have to hunt down another ferrule and actually get the plastic line into the cabin.

I know banks have a variety of transaction reporting rules. Do car dealers have to report large cash transactions as well? If so, does it only apply for cash or does it extend to checks and/ or credit cards?

If it only beats one out of every 10 cars then I'm not that interested.

(ok, that was a little snarky for a Friday afternoon)

You can not buy a car on credit cards in pa. Any transaction over 9999.00 cash or check has to be reported to the Feds!

Agreed on the wheels and I don't care about paint.

Isn't the suspension a double wishbone?

Vern you know what 350Zs anything with the DE and 6spd goes for? track ed is a bonus but whatever diff needs changing and brakes are probably worn out anyway. think i'll make some ITBs for it and make 2 dozen instead of just 5 or so... and write off the car. just an idea.

edit: i mean at auction

WOMP WOMP!

I'm surprised the rear suspension totally fractured.
This Subaru seems to have suffered a much harsher rear impact but the car was still drivable.

In fact, the car was good enough to jump through a redneck trailer at 5:30 in this video :
