Post what is the maxium speed you...

you can take a turn (left and right) at an intersection?*

what is your suspension set-up?
what technique are you using?

*intersection being a standard square with 90 degree angles.

I realize this is illegal but not everyone drive the speed limit all the time

-wop

EDIT: SP for SanjuNana . thanks.

You need to restate your question with more variables filled in.

Road Surface?
Weather conditions?
Traffic conditions?
Type of tires on the car?
Green light?
Yellow light?
Red Light?
Speed limit?
etc etc etc

I usually just go around corners bouncing off the rev limiter in 5th Ok seriously at the last auto-x there were these two very tight 90 degree rights that I was going through probably about 40 (didn't get a chance to look down at the speedo) on SO-2's.

ok.

Road Surface? street (asphalt).

Weather conditions? dry.

Traffic conditions? none.

Type of tires on the car? that would be apart of "what is your suspension set-up?"

Green light? yes.

Yellow light? no.

Red Light? no.

Speed limit? none.

that should clear it up .

Damn Jeff, I'm stock and a 40mph right isn't much. I've done that without too much worrying. Does sliding count? I'll have to go try again, but I'm pretty sure I've done somewhere around that. Be safe.

On a road with 0 traffic, with my pirelli's and swaybar set high, I've been known to keep the car high in second and try a four wheel powerslide, just for fun. Hell on your tires, but fun nonetheless.

my car is all stock and the fastest I've done a 90 degree turn with dry conditions on asphalt is 50 miles an hour. I use the brake swing technique...I made up that name, no ok...whenever I do this I'll be in 3rd going around 60, clutch in, drop to 2nd...at the beginning of the turn I turn the wheels slightly, when they're gripping I hit the brake sharply and the back swings around..it's nigfty, kinda difficult on re-92's because you can go into an understeer situation super easy...under or over...whatever the situation is when your front wheels are turned and you're going straight...

In perfect conditions, the fast I've taken a right hand-turn (not crossing lanes), is about 50 mph, sliding towards the outside the entire time of course.

But there's so many different types of left-hand turns. It depends on how many lanes there are, the size of the intersection, all kinds of stuff. But the fastest I've taken a 90-degree left-hander on a 2-lane road is about 75. On a 4-lane road, about 90. It depends on whether you really have to stay between the lines too. If you can cut the corner, then we're talking 100+.

Probably 45MPH when nobody was looking.

Stock Outback Suspension and Michelin Rainforce MX4 tires.

I thought the damn thing was gonna flip until the tires broke free!

Driving in the rain is much more fun.

The fastest I have taken a right hand turn and made the closest right hand lane is 40mph. The fastest I have made a right hand turn and made the middle lane or 2nd lane is right near redline in 2nd (50mph).

My car is faster on the track than on the street. So you can probably bump those numbers up by 5 to 10mph. (I have adjustable pillowball mounts)

My suspension setup consists of a 20mm rear bar, Tein HA adjustable coilovers with 7kg/m front springs and 6kg/m rear springs, set at 12 front, 15 rear. I have whiteline solid endlinks on both the front and rear, front and rear strut tower bars, and a whiteline ALK. Tires are Dunlop SP9000 set to 40lbs front and rear on 17" rims in the 215/40 variety.

This is on a MY99.

I would love to see a guy try to make a right angle turn @ 50+ in an intersection. A very sharp road curve yes but a right hand turn from the right hand lane in a city or rural road intersection, I don't think so. Even with the very best suspension and tires money can buy can't get a car to do that. On a country road with sharp semi banked corners you could get away with awsome amounts of speed, but a city right angled intersection @ 50+ mph speeds not likely. You will most likely loose it with too much understeer and plow into the other lane or if you brake too much entering into the turn you will ovesteer and the back end of the car will end up in the other lane. Just take the car to a parking lot chalk out a phony intersection and try it. The plus side of this try-out is to find the limitations of the car. Try it wet and try it dry. It may save your life knowing what the car can realy do.

That's not even worth arguing about. I've come to learn on this board that no matter what you say you've done with your car, somebody will call you a liar. Because some people think they know exactly how everybody else's car will drive.
