got the duct here
http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/p...141/NACA_Ducts.
they come on a large square piece of plastic shown a few posts up. post #40. i just cut it to fit with a cutting wheel.

and the oil cooler here w/ the thermostat option
http://www.maperformance.com/maperfo...ubaru-ock.html
i'm not sure what my temps should be at or what they were at before as i haven't driven the car yet. i guess i will look for it to be around 200-220 as a starring point.

For the spring and fall events Oil temps are not a huge issue (at the very least they come down very fast on a cool down lap) but in the heat of the summer its a nuisance. I will chat you up for sure at the races.

Glad you got the thermostat. Motors take for ever to warm up with no thermostats.

Yes yes they do. I don't have one in my STI and I am glad I don't drive it during the winter.

my oil cooler doesn't have a thermostat and my oil temps are almost to low all the time. Even at idle sitting in teh garage they are pretty low. I would definately get 1 with a thermostat in it.

Those ducts are sexy I was thinking of installing them in my splitter on the underside with a couple fans for my brake ducts. Haven't worked on that project yet....

^brendon is doing that on his splitter.

i bought 2 ducts with 2 holes each in them to run the brake ducts. two hoses per caliper. but i will prob use the frame rail eventually.
anyone know what the sensors right inside the frame rails in front are? crash sensors?

1st off - 2 thumbs up man. What steps did you take on cutting the fender?
I really like this setup! Going to order the duct here shortly.

you need to make a small lip on the back side of the vent in your fenter to force air into the vent itself. it will be mo betta

^ i thought about that, but the duct itself is designed to pull air in without needing a 'scoop'.

but when i get time, i might try some experiments with and without a scoop type thing on it to see if there a big enough difference to warrant it.

i just made the stencil thing on the previous page out of a pizza box and used a cutting wheel to cut the fender open.

Also, got a race alignment and corner balance from DTC STI aka Jason @ Innovative Garage this weekend.
looking forward to getting it out and testing it in the future

car weighs 2912 lbs with 1/4 tank of gas and 3074lbs with me in it at the moment.i hope to get that down below 2900 with me in it at some point. i know the trunk weighs about 600 lbs so it should be easy

It doesn't have the trunk springs in it so it's just the weight of the trunk and wing, it weighs at least 40lbs. probably more. not 600.
