Default Upgrade 2015 WRX Head Unit

Guys i wanna upgrade de headunit on my base 2015 wrx. Dont care for nav looking for a double din display with good sound quality something good modern looking maybe even used. Dont wanna send way too much so best value posible would be great. I was looking at the pioneer app radio used. Any suggestions? All threads i found where old perhaps there are new better products.

I went with this one in my 2015 and I'm pretty happy with it;

Then again upgraded the whole system, not just the HU.

Aftermarket car audio took a sharp down turn around 2010. I used to own a car audio shop and it got so expensive to replace factory equipment that people opted not to do it. Sure, it can be done on some cars but try messing with a new, CANBUS stereo system like what comes in almost any 2015+ car.

Long story short. When car audio fell out of popularity double din stereos took a kick in the nuts. A non-nav double din CD player would have nothing close to good quality sound. Add an amp and you'll be closer. Go with a touch screen Kenwood, Pioneer, Alpine, and you'll be fine .

Good luck

I am considering the Pioneer AVH X4800.7inch screen with dvd, cd, app radio, spotify, pandora. only thing missing is nav and carplay, but nav id prob use waze and show it via usb and for carplay ive read reviews it says carplay is not there yet not worth the price difference now.

Pioneer AVH-X4800BS $260
Amarican International - Dash Removal Tool Set
AXXESS ASWC-1 STEERING WHEEL CONTROL INTERFACE WITH MICRO B USB
Metra 70-7552 Wiring Harness
METRA 95-8905B SUBARU IMPREZA 2012 DOUBLE DIN STEREO INSTALLATION DASH KIT
Axxess AX-TOYUSB

total everything $339 and i am installing myself. Seems like a reasonable upgrade.

can anyone knowledgable on this confirm ive got the parts right. thanks

Sounds about right, but I don't know if the Metra harnesses have all the needed wires. I've always gotten a more complete one that's helped.

That's a thread I started that might help some of your concerns. I do love the AppRadio...

I'm still all stock in terms of speakers, HU made a world of difference.

Which one is it? Do you want navigation or not? Also, you don't give a budget. Your specifics aren't very specific.
