Default Stock WRX Seats in a 97 Impreza L? Help

Thanks in advance, I'm new to this whole mod thing and appreciate your smart folks helping me out.

I *Really* like the WRX seats, if I bought them from someone upgrading, what is required to put them in my 97 Impreza L wagon?

Also, would the stock WRX wheels/tires (WRX Rims + RE92's) fit my 97 L with no rubbing or anything? I believe the stock 97 wheels are 15"

Thanks the smart ones out here?

The front seats should just bolt in. The may sit a little higher than your stock seats.

The wheels should also fit no problem.

seats will go in fine.
wheels will go on fine but they are slightly larger in the overall circumference, which will change your speedo by 2.7%to slow.
Your car will say 100 when you are actually going 102.7
But who the hell says your speedo is exact. Mine was actually off by a little

Your odometer will also be off the same percentage.

Default ARGH One more question!!

OK Now that I'm actually looking for the seats to buy, I see that most of them don't come with the seat rails. Will the rails off my current 97 Impreza L Wagon work, or should I be looking for seats that come with rails. Thanks a bunch.

A friend and I test fit WRX seats into a '98RS. They DO bolt right in (and they should bolt right into your L), however the difference in seat height is significant.

If you are a tall person (5'9"+), I think you will find yourself uncomfortably close to the roof...

Good luck!

2 counts, right?

don't the WRX seats have air bags or something like that in them? I wouldn't think it would affect anything - just extra weight...

Default Again -- I'm such a pain thanks guys

Thanks for everyones answers so far!

Does anyone know approximately how much higher (in inches) the WRX seats are compared to the old Impreza's, so I can stack phone books or whatever on my seat and see if it'll be an issue bumpin' my head into the roof

Also, if they are too tall, can anyone recommend a different replacement seat that is inexpensive, reclines, and provides good visibility like a stock seat (the purpose here is to make more comfortable not to provide extra support/lighter weight for racing/rallying)

Thanks again you guys!

Maybe an RS seat? I'm sure there are a few of those around.
