Default Gf window questions

Didn't really know where else to put this, but considering it sucks to have to replace, I figured I'd put it in general so if anyone else has this problem they can see it.

First off, I have a 95 gf. My problem is that both front (manual) windows will go all the way up, but then will come back down about 3/8 of an inch. If I roll it down is falls that same amount and then makes a terrible metal on metal squeaking noise the rest of the way down.

I found out it was because the little plastic wheel shaped track guide broke and fell out so only the stud that held it is in the track, explaining the noise and why it doesnt work properly.

I went to my Subaru parts counter only to find that that piece is permanantly attached to the window and I would have to buy an entire new window to get it.

This seems like it should be a fairly common problem/thing to wear out, but there are no threads on it so it seems like I'm the only one. Am I?

Has anyone else experienced this or found a fix for it? I'm going to see if I can machine an aluminum replacement but I'm not too hopeful. Also, I bought a junkyard window today, so if anyone could show me how to easily replace it, it would be MUCH appreciated.

Jesus man.

Junk yard for that ****. One should only go to the dealership as a last resort.

I got the window for 60ish there. The dealer wanted over 275 not including tax.
