Default Can anyone ID/remove this part? Pics inside...

Can anyone give me some tips on how to remove the black cover shown in the pics below? This is on the top side of trunk, right by the 3rd brake light area. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Backstory: I was helping a friend move an AC unit and thought my trunk would be a good place to put it. It was a great idea at the time, a perfect fit getting in, but taking it out is impossible! That black cover is in the way by about 1/4 of an inch!

You have to take the rear deck off.
-Remove rear seat bottom (2 12 mm)
remove rear seat back (4 12mm bolts) + lift up
-remove trim around the deck area (seat belt tops will have to come off, plastic snaps off then it is a 14mm bolt)
-Remove those little clips for baby seats, the plastic snaps off then there is A 12 OR 14 mil bolt)
Trunk deck pops off. Go slow and make sure you have all the bolts off.

How can it have fitted in and yet not come out? Are you sure you can't reverse the steps you did to get it in?
