Default 99 impreza trans/deq

ive recently bought a 99 impreza wagon. apperently, someone changed out the auto for a stick, needless to say it wont pass deq. A cpl of codes come up pertaining to the auto trans it doesnt have, plus one for o2 sensor. Any one have any ideas, minus changing back the trans, which is not an option.

Maybe you need to put a standard trans ECM in it.Your car probably has the original ECM in it,which is seeing a bunch of open circuits.you'll probably have to get a wiring diagram to check which pins on the manual ECM go to the trans sensors & switches.make sure the speed sensor wiring for the auto & manual ECM are in same pin locations.Dont worry about that o2 sensor until you fix that trans wiring.

Ive heard that replacing the ecm would work, but it sounds too easy to fix the problem. Maybe i should try that. its just a simple replacement, then fire right up?

its not the ECM its the wiring. i did a auto manual swap on a 1997 impreza wagon, kept popping up like 4-5 codes. found a trans check lead on the ECU, that is something like B+ if auto and Ground if man.

fixed the wiring and all was well. no more codes.

"its not the ECM its the wiring" ........
its obsolete now, remembered i knew someone at the dmv, bypassed the emmisions test, got tags now. But, what to do with the wiring?
