As for the government. They should regulate the price of gas back down to $2.30 a gallon. Who ever adds this to their election ticket is sure to win. Who needs oil money at that point. They will win without it. And so what that big oil only made 8 trillion last cycle vs. 19 trillion. They are causing another economic crash.

The 1st of the year is going to be very bad.
The number of points of yours that are COMPLETELY wrong.. are incredibly.

how do you own a car.

"They should regulate the price of gas?"

People who say ... "oh my supply/demand".... dont' understand the complex world that is gas prices.

wow.. just wow.

Where was that (please say Toledo)!? That's almost as cheap as the gas at work (that I can't put in my own car else I'd get fired).

$4.40/gal for 91 in Augusta, Maine yesterday. Totally sucked.

I decided to actually drive the speed limit though (65 mph) for the remaining 50 miles of my trip home and managed 28.5 mpg. Not too shabby...

Last night I saw something I have never seen before. Shell, Cheveron, 76, and ARCO were all the same price. $4.73 for 91 octane. Shell, Cheveron, and 76 are usually all around the same price but ARCO is always about $.10 - $.15 cheaper than them. Makes me worried that Shell is using equal quality gas to ARCO...

you get to keep your job and still be able to get this kind of a discount... i see there's giant eagle (maybe a get go gas stn nearby as well) off of fremont pike & crossroads parkway in the toledo area (if you live anywhere near that area).

sign up for a fuelperks card for free and you rack up points when you buy stuff from accredited retail stores (e.g. amazon.com). i think you earn $0.10/gal per $50 purchase. sometimes they run promos giving you $0.20/gal off.

apart from other stuff i recently bought, i also grabbed a set of Weathertech side window deflectors & RA ver2 UR mudflaps from amazon that totaled me the $1.30/gal discount.

with fuelperks i very much rarely pay 93octane at current retail price, usually with $0.40/gal off or more. btw, you can avail of this discount for up to 30gal if you plan on bringing some tanks in.

sorry, long post but i hope this helps. doing this had saved me some money... and hopefully save some more for future mods.

Shell, Chevron and 76 are all on the top tier retailers list and ARCO is not, so either way I would stick with one of the other three, especially if they're all the same price.

To those who are arguing politics with gas prices as ammo, I'm just going to leave this here...

Gas prices are linked to the economy and the stock market, not to which party is in the white house. Match that graph up to one of the stock market indices and you'll see the same pattern. (Averages in the graph are for CT, but the pattern is the same for any state with minor changes due to gas taxes, etc...)
