Vote for anyone who YOU feel fits the criteria and sparks your interest the most for that criteria, that's how I interpret the Top Scoob contests.
Wide road racing tires dont make an AutoCross car. Your car wouldnt stand a chance in it's class at any nationally sanctioned event.

you should see his karting video lol...i cant get enough of 'the wave' id pay to see Hershey race wheel to wheel and give someone the wave

The car is not a class built car, it has so many modifications that put it in a silly uncompetitive class, but it is mega fun to drive and it has grip for eons. if he wanted to go win class based events he should go take my miata or be like my brother and race a 99 percent stock honda fit. Teh cars that are best to race competitively are not usually the most fun cars around.

personally, ive always preferred events like ADSI, porsche club, student organization run over mega strict competitive events because they seem to be much more about having a good time

+1. I'm sure it's a blast to drive, but as mattminer said above, it's not a class built car. As it stands, HERSHEY's car falls into XP. Even if he left the car as-is, I'm confident I could smoke him in ASP. Unfortunately, "BC Racing", "Hoosier", and "Aftermarket rear swaybar" don't belong in the same sentence.

I've been to an ADSI event, and I wouldn't exactly classify that as an autocross.

PS: I gladly accept challenges.

You're right, it's not a "normal" autoX because you can actually go beyond 1st and 2nd gear, laps are twice as long as a "normal" autoX, you can hit speeds around 125mph and someone else picks up the cones while no one has to stand on any dangerous corner. Then theres free hot dogs and chips while you're waiting in between the two run groups.

I think we all can figure out that my car is not built for any particular class in mind. I don't build a car to race a few times a month. It's built to how I like it and I fortunately have the luxury of being able to set up whatever course I feel like it and whenever I feel like it

Since you mentioned it... You should come next weekend, we can have some fun!

Rebuttal: I'm often well into 3rd gear at our sometimes 2+ mile runs at Devens. Also, $125 is a bit steep for an autocross. That's track-day territory.

I would love to. Unfortunately, my Koni's are out in KY right now waiting to be re-valved at Koni Racing.

I didn't know that they sometimes had a longer course at Devens. I would like to go to the longer ones, especially if you can be well into 3rd gear. My 95 I may be bringing out to other events since that is more responsive and aggressive at slower speeds. I just have to see which class that would fall into since that's a lot different then stock too. I have not brought that one to any public events yet.

ADSI is normally $125 because you get free lunch, BBQ (new since this past fall), and you also don't have to work any corners (stand there, sweat, possibly get hit, wind blowing the rubber in your face, etc.), someone else picks up the cones in an old cop car. There are benefits with both since Devens has a nicer Tarmac and is most likely a closer location to many. It's also from 12-5 with unlimited runs. The most runs I've ever heard of someone doing was in the low 30's and they stopped because they ran out of gas. Normally it's around 10-25 depending on how many people there are. I understand some people rather spend $50 and work corners etc. We are thinking of possibly doing a few of the $50 days and run 2 or 3 different courses (Shorter around 40second and slower, 1st, 2nd, maybe 3rd gear) to decrease the amount of wait time which increases drive time.

Hopefully you'll get those Koni's back soon and can come down!

No, that's track day territory back in 1991. It is, however steep for an autocross.

I don't think that anyone reported this thread (yet) but my son was laughing about it and some random guy came up to me today, when I was minding my own business and started talking about it.

I'm going to go vote for whoever has the lowest member number. Somebody get Bill Harvey to put his car in.....
