2002 When in Doubt
Flat Out!!

Default ny 2002 wrx 6-speed bbs's vf23 and more

This car has been my baby for the past few years and it's been treated as such. it's currently got about 115k on the motor and about 65k on the 6 speed. I've always wanted a version 7 STI since Subaru first released the 2002 wrx in America unfortunately the cost of importing one is unreal. So i did the next best thing i built my own, and it does not disappoint. i looked at what subaru did with the sti and did it to my wrx while retaining as many original STI parts as possible. First was the handling i imported a set of jdm aluminum sti control arms, took the front and rear sway bars off of a 04 sti added a set whiteline heavy duty end links. i also installed a fresh set of front shocks, new wheel bearings all around, front tie rods, and sti ball joints all with less then 15k on them. also i changed the tires to all season performance ties.

Next was the power of the car i took the vf23 turbo from the legendary 22b STI, the vf23 is known for its excellent mid range power and quick spool up.. meaning u wont get 400 whp out of it but its considered one of the best turbos for daily driven cars as you almost always have power when u need it. it's a substantial increaese over the stock wrx turbo. i installed a larger hyperflow aka turboxs top mount intercooler with an upgraded y pipe to flow more air. I also added an injen limited edition sti cold air intake, hks up pipe and down pipe so the turbo would breath better. I matted this with a borla hush exhaust it looks stock but sounds amazing and the best part is since i switched to this exhaust i haven't got pulled over once for an exhaust or noise citation day. Believe me I've been though a few exhausts(hks, turboxs, and cobb to name a few) and this is the one you want, i used to commute 2 1/2 hours every day to queens and it never bothered me. i upgraded the injectors to the 565 pink injectors and had them cleaned and flow tested by dutchwerks before they were installed. for boost control i added a grimspeed 3 port b.c.s... as for the tune i went open source and got a safe tune from 555 motorsports. if you get the car tuned on a dyno there's a lot more power that's available but i wanted something safe that i wouldn't have to worry about. i then added a 6 speed swap to handle the addition power, and for the better programmable differentials. it has a legacy gt rear diff and the stronger sti front axles.

For the exterior i ordered a jdm sti hood scoop and mated it with a zerosport splitter to better flow air to the top mount. i also added jdm sti fog light covers, 04 sti rear view mirrors, and an 04 sti trunk to complete the look. i then had the headlights painted to resemble the 02 sti ones'. I also installed a set of sti side skirts. Of course i had to add the signature gold BBS rims. next for the interior i completely removed the interior from an 04 sti and swapped it into my wrx this included everything from the seats to the carpet and floor mats. i then had the head liner color matched to the carpets, and had the center consul custom painted black with blue accents. i also added the sti shifter trim and the gauges from a v7 sti (rpms in the middle with the programmable shift light and beep) to finish out the look.

The car runs great except for two mechanical issues, the rear shocks are dead and will need to be replaced and possibly one of the top hats. if you get this car your probably going to want to upgrade to coil-overs anyway, as i was planning on doing. Also the rear breaks need to be replaced (pads and rotors) but if this doesn't sell right away ill probably end up doing them. Cosmetically the front passenger fender needs to be replaced as some ahole merged into me and dented it in, there's also a few scratches that need to be buffed out from the same incident. the body's not perfect up close but looks good overall.

please pm me with any questions or to set up a meeting.

looking to get $8900
