Any body know of anyone who does good work on having wheels painted and for a good price?

to be quite honest there is no such thing as a good wheel paint job. wheel painting is a bad idea in general. If you are going to paint them, you may as well do it yourself. its going to chip and look like garbage whether or you or a professional do it.

Now, on the other hand, if you want your wheels turned a different color, and have it done right, you need to look into powdercoating. No way around it.

the paint wont last forever. its only a matter of time. i have painted over half a dozen set of wheels, w/ and w/out various amounts of prep work and it still is only a matter of time.

salt, rock chips, road debris WILL chip and flake paint over time. how long can vary but it will happen. all depends on what you want, how often you are willing to repaint them, etc...

I understand that it wont last forever. It also depends if they are summer or winter wheels. You can paint wheels for around 1/5th the price of powdercoating so if you paint them every other year it will be 10 years before powdercoating will pay for itself and by then you will probably want different wheels anyways.

paint works fine as long as you use a good paint type i painted the wifes wheels 2 years ago and they still look good i made a thread on akms about the prosess nothing good prep cant handle napa on dowling had some good wheel paint on the shelf which is what i used and its a bit rubberized so it holds to chipping very well and well if ya get one nothing a little spay wont repair. when i thouight of this it only intent was for a summer but well it came out good and why change it

Use plastidip. It's a tough rubber like coating. Oh and if you don't like the color you just peel it off

I wanna paint mine black. Helped a guy do it on a 91 accord but they looked too matte IMO. I would like a mid level metallic gloss.

thanks

Been driving it 9 years now, parents bought it in '99 (it's a '97) and I got it in '03 so it's been in the family forever. One of the few Honda's that don't get crap in this town.
