Default PA: STi roll cage. RARE!!! 1/1 in the US!

After a bit of debate, I've decided to sell my STi roll cage. This cage is the rarest of the rare, the only one in the United States that I am aware of.

What exactly is this cage?
This roll cage is a 6 point, bolt-in cage designed for the sedan chassis. This is the tightest fitting cage you can find anywhere. It hugs the A, B, and C pillars closely and is designed to allow you to still take passengers in the rear seat.

Is it legit?
In a word, yes. This roll cage is an accessory part, available in Japan from STi. As I have been informed by a few sources, you cannot pass the JCI inspection in Japan with a roll cage installed. Because of this requirement, as well as the conflicting requirement for more safety and chassis stiffness for racers, legit roll cages have been produced of the bolt-in variety. This roll cage sandwiches key areas in the vehicle structure at the base of the A pillar, base of the B pillar, and the top of the rear strut towers. The main hoop also bolts in at the seatbelt attachment at the top of the B pillar. The tube is of very high quality, and the welds match.

How about padding?
The optional bump padding is included and installed. This thin padding will prevent minor injuries, such as hitting the tube with your shin or elbow while getting in and out of the vehicle. I added thick roll-cage padding at the top of the A and B pillars, as well as the roof bars.

What modifications are required for proper fitment?
Very few. Your carpet will need to be notched as well as your floormats. I can provide almost-new (6 months) grey OEM floormats with the Impreza embroidery for an additional $40, pre-cut. You can cut your own for sure, but these are an option if your mats are looking ragged. You will need to slightly trim the upper B-pillar trim so the tab for the main hoop can fit underneath. No trimming is necessary in the rear, as your rear seat cushion will squish out of the way. IF you have a 93-97 dash, you will have to trim your glovebox to be able to open it. I can provide a glovebox that is already modified to open.

It's used, correct?
Of course. The main hoop is still installed, but the rest of the components have been removed. I will provide hardware as well as the sandwich plates for the exterior of the chassis. There are some cuts and nicks in the bump padding from installation, but this is to be expected. There is a cut in the padding at the LF A pillar tube from when they cut the roof off the car in Japan. This scratched the paint on the cage, but did not damage it structurally. The lower A-pillars are in great condition. I wrapped the footwell area with rubber padding from protection from abrasion.

The ugly:
Seriously consider how you will use the vehicle, and where safety sits on your priority list. There are benefits and risks with installing a roll cage in a street car. Do your research, as there are a few good threads discussing this. This ad is no place for this debate. Please be respectful and take your opinions to the appropriate threads elsewhere in the forum.

The roll cage will fit all 93-01 Impreza sedan models. The cage was originally installed in a V-Limited with the 98-01 dashboard. My dash is the 93-97 style. It will fit both variety, though I did have to take a dead blow to the floor to persuade it. I also had to remove some of the tar mat around the base plates.

The cage is located in Pine Grove, PA. I can not ship. I do have a truck with a cap, and can arrange delivery if you cover the associated costs (fuel, tolls, fast food) up front. I do not prefer to deliver, but I will extend this offer as a courtesy.

I am looking for $800 firm.

It fits much closer to the pillars than the Cusco cage, and allows you to use the rear seat. The Cusco cage does not.
