I'd much rather have a focus. I had a choice between the corolla and a civic.

Focus = suck. Fugly suck. Like ugly old food stamp-toting, mumu-wearing, fat lady on power-wheelchair at Walmart at 3am, kind of suck. Front end is just silly looking, more than Audi... And a 2.0L, with D.I., and 12-1 comp and all it makes is like 160hp? Wow Ford, just wow. Way to rock the 80's. Wait, they did better back then even. (for those thinking it, yes i realize they also finally stuffed a boosted mill into it, but it still makes less-than-impressive power as well...) Maybe if they dropped some weight, I think my STi weighs less still... Ok, Monday morning, sick-as-a-dog-still, rant over with... (oh, and Justin, why are you in a Focus? you up in AK?) |

It was a choice between a base/no frills corolla or civic. And i only get radio too.
Sad day I actually kinda like the looks of the new focus... The hatchbacks anyway. The sedans are pretty ugly.So where's my food stamps, mumu and grocery scooter?! ![]() |

Oh when I put my lip back on, I was kinda thinking of glueing it along with bolts, so it sits flush with the bumper all the way around. Any suggestions on what I should use?

OK, the chrome black is looking sweet but now it's crying out for tint.
Rubbing in the back, was afraid the STI 245's on 8.5" wheels would be pushing it. Anyone have a line on a fender roller or is there a shop in town that can be trusted to nudge fenders out a bit? The Nokian Hakkapelletas must have the squishiest sidewall imagineable, all of the sloppy feel is gone. Of course I'm granny'ing it around until I can get the fenders adjusted. It's loaded down with a set of wheels and tires in this shot but even so the front is sitting higher than the back. Maybe some of the wagon spacers will help. Springs will be on the shopping list too. ![]() |

Baseball bat, heat gun, and some patience. If you need a lot of roll add a rubber mallet.

Yes, snow tires do have extremely soft rubber compounds, designed to stay flexible and do their magic even in low temps. They have horrible performance handling on dry roads, but they do awesome at what they need to, especially the Hakka's.
I use the rear strut spacers, 3/8", on my Sti in fact, to level out the oem pink/jdm option springs. I love it. You could also try just cambering i your rears a tad if its barely rubbing. There's lots you can try before ruining your fenders (plenty of people do it, but rarely perfectly cleanly. and plenty of people will see rolled fenders on a car for sale and run away. its not cheap/easy to fix rear 1/4's) |

Well my friends, I'm off on my new adventure. Heading to Butte, MT tomorrow, and then off to Basic Training in San Antonio, TX on Tuesday. I may be able to get online Monday evening, but after that I'll most likely be out of contact for the better part of two months. I hope everyone has a great two months, and look forward to seeing you all on the other side.
I just want to thank everyone for the friendships, the fun times I've had at meets, the parts and the assistance with projects over the years. You're all great, and I hope to see you all again when I pick up my car during/after tech school. -Matti |
