Hopefully not a current Subaru owner by then. (nothing negative here, just pointing out i'd love to see my STi in the hands of its new owner sooner than late & be on to my next project.) Maybe i could join the caravan of Former-Impreza-Owners from E.I. ...

I don't see why not. you've been a subaru owner for how long now? Besides, if you don't sell it by then, you can always bring it down and who knows, you might find a buyer

I'm in as long as I'm not working. That's unfortunately as good as it gets for an on-call railroader...

So just recently my speedometer started jumping around like a Mexican jumping bean. Looked online and I guess 99s are prone to speedo failure. I am trying a different vss tonight to see if that is the problem first but if that doesn't fix it i'll be swapping the cluster. I would prefer to swap to a jdm cluster but i'm having problems finding any info on compatibility and what will work any info would be greatly appreciated.

If the foresters are the same as the imprezas, a 99 would be a v5/6 cluster. Take your bezel off and see if it has 3 green plugs on top for tge wiring that should be the v5/6

My old 98 Impreza did that. Or as soon as I stepped on the gas it would shoot up to 40 and get stuck. Haha

My house (1586 Agate Dr.) tomorrow, whenever everyone wants to start. I'll get some burgers and buns. If people wanna bring chips, beverages, ect. I have Pepsi and water in my fridge.

Well Talked to Lusio, He says it looks fine, I guess where mine is a 99 its really picky on the cluster and has to be replaced with a 99 cluster, on another forum theres a thread about soldering a wire to fix the issue though so i'll try that
