Chris, I was losing about a quart every 1500, didn't smoke during startup, no smoke during normal driving or hard, minimal leaks"I have them but no drips or spots", no oil in intercooler or turbo, but PVC valve and hose was caked, so I replaced it and cleaned everything up! Haven't driven enough to see if that fixed it.....

Yeah Ada & Canyon county both require emissions, but really if you're car is obd2, all they do it hook up, no exhaust sniffer. I'm completely catless and I still pass. And really, it's $15 every other year....

Of course crime is worse in Boise, when you're comparing it to idaho falls/pocatello. It depends on what part of the treasure valley you live in though, nampa/caldwell is worse. As far as Boise, south/southeast boise is where more of the crime is. north/northwest boise/meridian isn't that bad. I live in Kuna, pretty damn quiet around here.

Went to that event at LMS yesterday with about 16 other IDS members, and Ali asked if we had any stickers to rep on the car. Good thing I had some on me

When we showed up were were just planning on parking in the back, but he insisted we park in front of his trailer

He's a pretty chill guy, he even discussed wanting to put together something like Wicked Big Meet here as well in the future.

That's cause them's is richer folks in Boise...

My job could probably go somewhere as well if i moved there, but for a tiny tiny increase in pay that would be, i don't think it would be an improvement. And my wife makes 4x my salary here, that wouldn't work in Boise. Sooo, yeah.

I'm game! Lol I've actually thought about doing something like that for a while now. Have ethanol free pumps along with e85, race fuels, off road diesel, etc. Also stock the high end hard to find oils & stuff. I just don't have the monies haha

Gas doesn't make real money tho, and you have to maintain your own pumps n such. Given the mark ups on drinks/alcohol/tobacco, I'd rather just sell that. No gas.

Plus, we not-as-cool I.F. people already have a station that sells 85-91 E-free, diesel, bio-diesel, E85...

Yes but you need something bring in people.... With high markups on this stuff you won't make much without a lose leader.
I don't think the area would support just a c-store since that would only work on the "convenience" factor

Meh, we have several alcohol & tobacco stores with no gas. Been in business for a while. It's worked for 7-11 for a long time.
I hear your logic tho. Typically the theory is that people come for the gas, but spend on c-store items that make ya money. But I've seen gas stations with prices on gas too high to compete (and respectively little sales in it) still stay in good business. And with all the main chain stores having gas pumps too, that should cut down a bit on c-store sales. In fact I only fill 2 places. Diesel at Fred Meyers (.15-1.00 off), and gas at the station I mentioned above w/E-free stuff. Neither has a c-store. And if I hit up a c-store for a drink, etc, I stop at the ones that carry what I drink or have the best sales. I never by alcohol at c-stores, and I don't smoke. But I do see how a good percentage of the people out there are the opposite of me. Spend ridiculous amounts of money at c-stores, often several times a day...

But hey, you guys go for it tho, I always encourage people to be their own bosses. I'll gladly support ya anytime I fill up in poky. (which is next to never, but still, I would...)
Just make sure ya come up with a good name: The Pumpin Hole? The Fiilin Hole? Just franchise a Kum-'n-Go? I bet someone can do better than me...

I already know the location, it's in a pseudo-monopolistic area.

It'd be a convenience store, so gas is just the kicker to lure people in, and I doubt 18 year olds are allowed to sell alcohol, which is why I'd need a partner

This is the beginning of the end. Today gas stations, tomorrow matching civics and gas trucks.

We don't have 7-11's here and the tobacco connection sells high end tobacco that's why you go there...

You'd need a good location or something to draw...

By pseudo-monopolistic, I mean the 3 closest gas stations are all more than 5 miles away from this one, so adding this one would surely attract business and customers
