A friend at work is looking for an Impreza/WRX/older STI for their son. In the $8-12k range. If you have one or know of one, let me know, I'll pass the word on. I was surprised she knew exactly what I was driving - her son must be a true believer!

Our LGT is up for sale. I personally wouldn't want my high school kid to have a STi/LGT/WRX. I know I would have gotten into a lot more trouble compared to my carborated 89 Accord. But a sweet turbo wagon as a first car? Super jealous. (This is assuming the son is of high school age).

I would never ever ever ever ever wish a high school kid on an STi. Especially as a first car bought by daddy. IMHO.

An RS would be alright for a high school kid assuming he had been well taught and semi mature

Yes, he's 17. I'll forward the ad to her...nice wagon there. If that had been available when I was shopping around I'd probably have snagged it.

My RS is up for sale, could be a project or a running WRX swapped RS....? If anyone is interested let me know. On a side note, I will be needing a stage 2 tune on my WRX next week if someone has a cable and tune??? Neko already said he would give me some assistance, that is if he isn't busy after 6 pm on a week night. Catless DP, and exhaust is what is going on....

Whats up fellows? Newbie here down in Pocatello. Just got a stock 06 2.5i with 63k a few months ago and I love it. Looking to start upgrading some things here soon. I just wrapped new tires on it, so Im thinking lightweight pulley/flywheel combo with a wrx or sti exhaust and maybe a new header will be a good start.
Anybody got any good used parts for sale or have any suggestions on what I should do? To me, you all are the experts!

might want to read up on the flywheel/crank pully combo, im told it could cause a check engine light. but could be wrong.

No your right, I have read it can cause problems with the CEL and the electrical because the rotational mass of the engine is so much less. But ive heard of those types of issues occuring more with the under driven pulleys rather than lightweight. Thinking more about it I will probably just keep the stock flywheel weight and look to get a nice lightweight pulley to help with rpm response. Other than that Im not sure what else to do.

2.5i with suspension mods are really fun, dont need a lot of power to have fun.
