Keep checking on here, i'm sure someone stateside does. Or just do it yourself. the re-seal is pretty simple, and the power-coating could easily be done locally. Or just re-seal and paint em. You can use high-temp paint if ya want, but i've used ordinary spray paint many times and never had an issue. Lastly, I've also used vinyl sticker to replace the "Brembo" ones and they hold up great too. Would ya run into issue tracking it extensively? maybe, but i don't do enuf of that anyway...

Sorry to hear that. Its just been sitting for a while now? or had it been running somewhat recently? Odd that it just happened like that. Was it on stands or something? Were you actually driving it?

Chris, the car runs pretty good, seems like the top end falls a bit quicker now though. It could be that it just makes good power down low that the top end just doesn't feel as good? The Turbo is super loud too!

so does it actually seem to run out of steam before 7k? or is it still pulling well when it hits there?
gotta remember you're getting used to a motor that doesn't run to 8k+

I've been lurking for about a month and never even thought to check and see if there was a local chapter! I just bought my 07 STi Friday here in Pocatello. I was filling up with gas today and a gentleman driving a Saab 9-2x was kind enough to come chat with me a bit and let me know about the local group! I look forward to seeing some of you around town. I'll be the guy still re-acquiring his proficiency in manual cars after owning a truck and a CBR for 3 years instead of a car.

Yep that's the one haha. I have ties waaaay back with Courtesy Ford, and had instructed them to find me an 06 or 07 STi. They basically said it couldn't be done. A while later I happened to stop by to drop something off when he was out test driving the newer one. When I walked in one of the guys I deal with was already walking towards me saying "Would you be interested in that one?" pointing towards the 07.

I picked it up before they even stocked it in. It goes in tomorrow for the full service rundown and detail.

Thanks for the welcomes!

Welcome. You the guy that came to look at my WRX a few months back (the '99)? Either way, congrats on the pickup, I'm sure you'll love it. If its an 07, make sure ya get anything but an oem tune on it, things started going south in 07 with oem ecu tunes.

Nope, I just started looking for an STi about a month ago. Sinister also told me to get rid of that OEM tune haha. I have been thinking about picking up an AccessPort pretty quick anyway. I was going back and forth between that and a DP, but I think I will get the AP first.

Unfortunately I already have plans for tomorrow evening, but if something should happen I'll head over to Five Guys for sure.

Ah, seemed coincidental. I had a guy come look at it that hadn't driven a stick in years either, other than big industrial trucks. (did great tho, even with my odd clutch)

As far as the tune, you could always go with an opensource tune and get your DP too. Might as well head for stg2. (Obd2 cable: $50, base map: free, tune: $1-200 if you want it, cheap eBay or used DP: $100 or less)

Hmmmm. It seems like open source would take a lot more of my time. I had an 09 Mustang GT that I modified, and I loved the SCT flash tuner I had for that.

As far as a DP goes, is there a benefit to getting a catted DP vs a catless DP? I am planning on doing TBE and Tune, and that's it besides some suspension such as sway bars/end links etc. I'm thinking that the TBE and tune will be enough power for a DD.
