Getting ready for a new season of car care sucks...

Don't worry, I spend significantly more than that on detailing stuff. Being a car nut is just plain expensive

haha, I do too. I've so far spent about maybe 600 - 800$ worth of product.

yep

once you start really getting into detailing..buying buffers and pads and compounds and polishes it starts to get pretty ridiculous. But worth it to have the best looking paint on the block.

....I don't think that's steep or unreasonable at all. I typically spend more than that on one order sometimes 2x per year.

Here's a picture I took over a year ago of just some of my products I pulled from 2 of my cabinets to try and make more room:

Not pictured are my buckets, bucket acc's (dolly, grit gaurds, etc.), wash media, brushes, sprayers, towels, soft water/sediment filters, foam gun, etc. ....here's a shot of my DI filtration system though :

^^^ Owned OP.....

What is better from Meguiars the Gold Clay kit, or the Smooth Surface Clay kit?

And their All wheel cleaner is amazing! I used it plus used the Sonax cleaner and had a ton better experience with the Meguiar's

also you should try the Meguiar's NXT 2.0 Tech Wash, I won't use anything else...

I agree Kean. Probably going to be spending this week gearing up for this season. Gotta spend money to make money.

In my case, my products/tools are just for personal use and an occasional "favor" I might do on the side.

No worries mate...

I think I was shocked at how quickly this stuff adds up. I was spoiled because my shop was split as a performance shop / detail shop. Though the detail shop was a separate business, I was always able to use their products without a question or seeing what it actually costs...

Quick detailer, clay, tire wet, and all the great Malco products all added up and since it's been about 5 years since we went our separate ways, my supplies ran out and I only purchased a 10th of what they had or what some of you guys have!!

Yeah, I ordered detailing items and I was already over $140. After the detail the car looked amazing though!
