Default Anything I Can Use Off An Ej25D for an Ej20g?

My friend just recently had his transmission seize while driving, and he is parting out his 2001 2.5 Forester.
My question is, is there anything off of an ej25d that is an upgrade for a 95 jdm ej20g? Whether it be heads, intake manifold, etc?
Side note, if anyone needs cheap/free parts for a forester (complete car minus trans), let me know in a pm.

There's nothing that's an upgrade. There's a lot of parts that would be good spares for service parts. There's a cross compatibility thread over in the pre-2002 Factory Turbo Forum...

Someone verify this but I thought his heads were the same as the EJ20k but with NA cams and no turbo cooling/oil lines.

Maybe you could get creative and use the 2.5 block in place of your ej20. Grab a set of OE STI pistons and have them machined to fit regular rods.

I would be interested in the two plastic timing gears, the timing cover and maybe a couple valves. My daily was in an accident and cracked the timing gears If you didn't want to tear it down and you would sell it super cheap I could possibly just get the passenger head.

Why not replace transmission....? I'm confused.

Oh, I get it.

"hey honey"

"...what?"

"guess what happened to the car"

"something bad?"

"oh ya, car is f*cked, gotta part it out to help pay for a new car."

"that's terrible, what replacement car are you looking for?"

"another Subaru......."
