Whats up everyone? Im net to the website, and Alaska. I spent one winter up there (last winter not this one) with me car and my car handled it very well. I will be heading back soon and plan on doing some mods. I was wondering what type of mods you all have been doing and if you have any problems in the winter with certin things. For example air intake, bov, ect. Let me know the dos and donts. Thanks in advance.

If you're doin a cold air intake make sure to get a prefilter. Lots of puddles during breakup and spring and you don't wanna suck that **** up.

Welcome to the Subaru Capital. You will find that Alaska is great for modding cars. We have some of the best air in the world for performance engines. We do anything auto-Xs, ice races, cruises, or just meets where we play around in parking lots.

Speaking of which, I think I need to get that and an air bypass valve. I have a feeling with all the snow we got, there will be some deep puddles during breakup this year

Cosseywrx had an issue with his air/oil separator freezing this winter. Made a huge oil mess in his intake tract and intercooler. He could tell you more about that.

Otherwise, welcome to the AKIC. The Fairbanks guys are getting together more frequently lately. I'm sure this spring and summer we'll have some bigger meets too.

Any where further than anchorage a AOS would be risky. Most anchorage guys dont have a problem with it. Apparently a heated AOS is a way to go. Didnt know they made them until Seth at P3 mentioned it.

If ya dont do cobb ap or P3 tuned then email tunes / opensource is the way to go.
