How to find connector type so I can replace? (#2 coil pack)

I believe that I have an intermittent connection. How can I find out the connector type and get any pin insertion/removal tools so that I can replace the connector to my #2 coil pack?

Usually, you don't. The only real chance you have is to see if the company that made the connector has their logo on the connector. That's a no no for North America OEM's. No supplier can put their logo on the part they are supplying. Ford is the worst for this. Sometimes, Japanese OEM's allow it. Take a look. On the other hand, if the coil supplier made the connector, it's either Denso or Diamond, I can't remember which. Might say it on the coil.

If you do find the supplier, calling them and getting the tools might be difficult. If it says Deutsche (spelling might not be right), then you have a high chance of getting one. But I don't know if they suppy OEM. Could be a company called Molex, they make a LOT of connectors.

I work for an OEM supplier, and this is something even we struggle with. Take a picture, PM it to me, and I might be able to lead you in the right direction.

What makes you think you have an intermittent issue?
