Power steering pump or belts?

Does this sound like a power steering pump issue or just a belt? It whines on start up and when I turn the wheel at idle (only after just starting up the engine).

Belt. Usually a belt is kind of chirpy, which yours sounds like. Power steering pump is a whine, but it's a smoother whine, if that makes sense.

Probably just needs to be tightened.

Mine did the exact same thing. I had replaced the belt and it had stretched alittle making it not as tight as it should be. The belt simply needed to be tightened and all was well.

Did you change your belt recently?

Thanks for both of your posts. Yes, I just had new belts installed prior to purchasing it. I went back to the dealer and had the belts tightened yesterday. No whining/chirping any longer!
