Default Car dead on freeway any ideas?

So I'm stranded on the freeway right now. The search on phone app sucks.

My car lost all power while driving. Anyone have any trouble shooting ideas. It turns over. It just lost all engine response. No cels either. I can't check for spark cause I'm alone.

Could it be a fuel pump. I tried to listen for it but the freeway is too loud.

No one worry. Someones giving me a tow

Does it die immediately after it starts? If so, i would bet that you have an Intercooler hose popped off.

Oh thank god. How hard is to change out a timing belt. Easier that a clutch?

It was the timing belt. I've never changed one but, figured what the hell. Pulled off the covers and found this.

I had one back on before the end of the night. It was way easier than a clutch. I love that there is a tread for everything on here.

Well I bought It used at about 120k assuming it had been done at some point. I'm thinking it has never been done over the life of the car. I'm at allmost 180k now. So it was a good timing belt. If I had known it was so easy to change, I would have done it a long time ago.

Getting married in October. I've got a new job that actually requires me to work. Are you still working for Qwest (now Century link)? They have sent me some nasty letters about things I "found" online.

Back on topic. They new belt is really loud. It's worrying me. You can hear it in the cabin when it starts up. It sounds like a whirrling noise, like the belt is rubbing on something or a bearing is rubbing on something. The covers have been beat up pretty bad and might be rubbing somewhere. I'm also worried one of the bearings might not be torqed tight enough (my wrench seems off).

Anyone notice and loudness after doing their timing belt? It also seems to get quite after driving.

You should have replaced all the pulleys also. Normally the geared pulley on the left of the water pump is the first to go.
