unless you want to do some wiring your better off just getting the same engine. unless you can find a phase 1 ej22 and just swap manifolds.

yes, i have a EJ25 in my 93L using the original FWD tranny. should you? no unless like overdrivex said use a phase 1 ej22. the ej18 and ej22 use the same ecu or the ecu runs both or something like that.

Do the ej22 conversion worth it in every way I have the same car with full manuals on everything let me know if you need any manuals or advice. Overdrivex and TOI are right same ECU and wiring the conversion is very easy however.

I had a 2.2 out of my wife car, and also have a 2.5 laying on the shop, the bell housings looked different to me, seemed like the 2.5 had more bolts, is this the case or do all subaru engines bolt to all tranny's?

thanks, had to get my 3rd post so i can start a post for my next project,

What year do you have the manuals for the 2.2?

Just to point out, any transmission that started on an EJ engine will bolt to any other EJ engine regardless of year, size or transmission type.

The only hiccup is when you use a phase 2 transmission against a phase 1 block because of the lower starter bolt. This can be remedied by welding/tapping a stud in place.
