Default When to change spark plugs in WRX?

The dealer told me that I have 60,000 mile plugs in my car. The subaru website said to change them at 30,000 miles. Does anybody know the truth?

Thanks,

Eric

if you car is bone stock then do what the dealer says so if there are any problems blame it on them and warrenty it. other wise i personally change my plugs every 10k. you may also want to read this informations about spark plugs for your own benifit.

Indeed. Manual says 60,000 miles. Wow, timing belt is 90,000, according to the manual, I'm used to 60K with Mitsu's.

considering I've never seen this regarding a plug before, is it normal for the stock 2002 wrx center electrodes to be 'pointy' with a silver 'dot' on the underside of the side/ground electrode? They are labelled "PFR6G" and the center electrode is tapered to a point..

I've only worked with cylindrical center electrodes, and ngk split-type or similar, and have never seen this type of tip before on NGK plugs.. anyone?
