I picked up a cat from Craigslist from someone else when she was a kitten because I thought she was being abused. She was missing patches of fur, had a upper respiratory infection and was vomiting up all her food and she was also infested with fleas.

I then got her fixed up, got a specific brand and style of food that she could eat without vomiting, got her respiratory infection cleaned up, and now she's a very healthy and happy cat with no chronic illnesses or problems. I have spent probably near $500 getting her back to health.

Unfortunately I can't keep her because I'm moving in a month or so, and because my gf has a border collie that has developed an unhealthy fixation on the cat. I got the cat back to health, so now I'm comfortable getting her a better home.

The Craigslist person that sold me the kitten said she was "Bengal and Savannah" mixed, but I can't verify at all if this is true or not. I can't guarantee if she has any Bengal or Savannah blood in her.

She loves to be around people (she doesn't just hide and sulk all day) and she recognizes the sounds of our cars and will run to the door to greet us. She is about 7 pounds, and is a multi-colored red/tan/black pattern. When we picked her up, the previous owner said she was a Bengal and Savannah mix, but we have no way of confirming if she has any Bengal or Savannah blood. She is spayed and is super-friendly, and uses her scratching posts. There is no history about the cat, we can only estimate her age to be about 1 year 8 months. She is 100% healthy, up to date on vaccinations, and registered with the City of Houston. I will include the forms to transfer the records to your name. I will also give you the current health records I have for her, and the contact for her current vet.

For $200 you get:
A converted deck storage box w/catflap and covered litterbox inside. No smells, and hides inconspicuously in the living room - worth $120
4 months of prescription grade flea/tick/worm/mite medication (preventative care, she does not have fleas, worms, or mites) - worth $80
1/3 bag of cat food - please stay on this brand and type!
1/3 container of litter
Cat carrier and kennel - worth $50
Full medial records from local vet - over $500 in medical expenses paid!
Food bowl - worth $15
Registered and licensed with the City of Houston - worth $20
Miniature cat apartment - worth $20
Two scratching posts - worth $20
Cat harness for taking the cat outside - worth $10

All this equipment is worth over $300, not to mention what I paid at the vet to get her back to health. I'm not interested in making money on top, but I would like to recuperate some of the cost of the equipment.

My cat is cheaper than a free or stray cat because you're getting a cat that has health records, fully healthy, and needs no work. Pick her up, go home, and enjoy your new feline friend!

Good luck man. Got 4 dogs, so even bringing her close to my house would probably constitute animal abuse. I'm surprised the Border Collie can't be trained to handle the cat. They're pretty much the smartest breed. I certainly appreciate the "nature" aspect though!

You might also want to contact Mickey Platko at HappyCat Rescues (mickey <at> goneferalpublishing <dot> com)

If you can provide her with your pics, she'll post to PetFinder and other sites and list you as fostering the cat, in and tell her how much you need to make an adoption happen. She's up near Tomball, but you don't necessarily need to visit 'em. Just tell her Geoff (owner of Teddy) sent you her way, and she will also help screen people prior to adoption.

Shoot me a PM, I'm down the street.

My gf might be interested finding our cat a buddy. Does she play well with others? Indoor/outdoor? Indoor only?

Indoor only, but we have a harness that we can take her outside with. She's only been outside a handful of times. She does very well with our two dogs, the person that we picked her up from had a herd of cats so I can only imagine she does well with other cats. I'd be more than happy to have you "test drive" her to make sure she's a good fit with your family.

Sent you a PM
