Default A/C help on 2002 wrx

So I went out to recharge my A/C system on MY02 wrx and not too long into the process, freon started leaking out of my low side hose that connect to the compressor. It was leaking right where it meets the compressor so I thought it was missing an o-ring of some sort but when I put one in there it still leaks. Any suggestions? I don't think my compressor is bad bc before I start turning up the pressure in the system, my compressor engages but then it leaks shortly after

Take the car to a shop that does AC work, and stop venting refrigerant to the atmosphere.

im not stupid, I know not to vent refrigerant into the atmosphere but how was I supposed to know my A/C was leaking without putting refrigerant into it in the first place.

No, you are not stupid and I do not enjoy insulting people. This is my observation:

"how was I supposed to know my A/C was leaking"

"So I went out to recharge my A/C system"

Ok, before you start quoting *****, read what I wrote in the beginning. Im pretty sure I stated that I went to recharge my a/c before I knew it was leaking, otherwise why would I charge a system that's already leaking and when I tried fixing the issue it was still happening so I gave up bc I didn't want to VENT REFRIGERANT INTO THE ATMOSPHERE. So if anyone here is the dumba** it's you my friend. Also, that was my intention to insult you, bc your an idiot. Get the hell out of my thread so someone with common sense can help me.

I had the same problem a year ago. Make sure the oring is not smaller than stock. When installing make sure it tugs and snap in just so you know it's tight in there. Torque it down but do not over tighten. Good luck with the fix.
