2002 Subaru Impreza 2.5rs oil change

Hey guys, so my car just hit 160k miles today, due for an oil change here soon and I was wondering what you guys run in your subarus with higher mileage? I know its 5w30 but what brand synthetic or not? I have been taking it for oil changes but I would rather do them myself! So let me know if you can I would appreciate it.

So I found alot of people are using Shell Rotella oil. I looked it up and they have quite a few grades of oil, T6, T5 etc. Which would be best for the car I asked about?

Thank goodness we have a new oil thread this week. I was getting worried.

Go with Shell Pennzoil conventional 5W-30. An n/a car does not need synthetic nor a 40 weight IMO. Pennzoil has a very good additive pack and has some of the highest moly levels you'll find in a conventional oil.

Another option is the Pennzoil High Mileage version which is what I run in a 2000 2.5RS . Rotella T5 10W-30 part synthetic would work well too.

Lol great sense of humor thanks! Im glad I could be the one to bring a new oil thread to the board. I was thinking high mileage was a good idea myself. I agree 40 weight is not needed as well. Thanks for your input though!
