Default rotax karting

went on my buddy's rotax for some practice laps. this is the 2nd session. whittled 55s best from my first to at 52 on this one after building up the courage to not brake at the end of the longest straight before the fastest turn. not nearly as much as my buddies who pulled 50s; really fast guys pull 47s. my 3rd session i think i had some consistent 52s but i don't have all the data yet so i didn't render it.

trying to get a group together to go race these - $250 for 5 races with about 30 minutes seat time in south bend on a sunday. def for someone comfortable with the normal karts, these ones are no joke!

The track in your video is Concept Haulers Motor Speeedway in Norway Illinois. I was just there last weekend racing. I also have the same Rotax engine and also a Iame Leopard I race in Tag Senior.

That is not MRP Michiana in the video.

On another note for those interested in trying out a kart.

USAIR in Shawano Wisconsin will be having a fun kart race June 9th and 10th. We will be working the rental karts into our daily program if we have enough interest. They will have their rental karts available for $15 for 10 minutes. Their rental karts are not as fast as the Rotax, but they are a real racing kart and not an amusement park go kart.

If anyone is interested PM me and I will get you more information.

that is correct, here are my (slow) vids from the event we did sunday, at MRP.

the rotax senior people were definitely killing us in times! i was surprised to see our max speed here was apparently only 45/46 from their data? it felt a lot faster. it doesn't seem like that would have been average though? i don't know, maybe you can shed some light on that info from MRP/mylaps. in norway the long straight is def well over 45. i couldn't find my external gps antenna so no gps data in the videos above.

If you are reading your MPH off the mylaps that is your average speed. You probably were going about 60-65 maybe more down the straights.

At Norway you are probably running 70-75 down the straight. But the guy in your video wasn't running very fast. Our average speed was 55 to 58 at Norway.

ok that sounds about right, i definitely felt much faster than 45 at the end of the MRP straight.

i'm the slow guy in the norway video as well.

my buddy is collin mizeur if you've raced with him - he recently got a rotax although i don't think he's up to the competitive laptimes yet.
