Hi all,
I am looking to sell my 2009 Subaru WRX Premium DGM 4-door sedan with 54,000 miles. Located in Beacon Hill, downtown Boston. I also work in Waltham 5 days a week. Price: $18,000. The car is fully loaded with navigation and Sirius tuner (plus the premium goodies for the North East -> heated seats, heated wipers, heated mirrors), sunroof, rear spoiler. Dark metallic grey paint. No modifications except an SPT exhaust. Tires are Hankook V12 Ventus EVO on stock wheels 15,000 miles and they should have another summer in them. I will also include some snow tires, Vresdian, which should last another winter or 2. This car stickered for almost $30,000. Willing to sell here for $18,000 (see details below): KBB Private Party: Excellent: $22,600 Very Good:$21,900 Good: $21,300 Fair: $19,300 The actual condition is between good and very good with slight curb rash on the driver side front wheel and a bumper scratch on the rear. So without the engine replacement, I'd offer this at $22,000. However, due to the engine replacement at 26,500 miles (known manufacturer's defect with 7/08 - 9/08 build dates, well documented on NASIOC), I am knocking this down to a FIRM price of $18,000 for NASIOC folks. That is $1300 less than the Fair KBB price for an Good/Very Good condition car with 25000 miles on a brand new, defect free crate engine. No problems with the engine since it was replaced at all. Yakima Q-Towers/clips, cross-bars, fairing and lock set included (~$300 value). Remember, drivetrain warranty is in effect until 5 years or 60k miles. Unfortunately, I don't believe the 7 year/100k Gold Plus I got from SOA due to the engine replacement is transferable. But I may be able to hassle them about that, or if they won't budge and you want the car, feel free to hassle them. I will get pictures up by this weekend. I was thinking of selling this awhile ago but ended up enjoying the car for another year+. My commute is such that I can't handle doing the manual transmission anymore and I'm looking to get into an automatic vehicle (BMW 335i xDrive). Hi,
Yes, the motor was replaced by SOA and I have all the paperwork. I have many responses in the warranty thread on the main site from this issue. Replacement was done at Rafferty Subaru in New Jersey (where the car blew up while on vacation) and then flat bedded back up to Ira Subaru in MA where I picked it up. Subaru was really easy to deal with and did offer me the Gold Plus 7/100k no deductible warranty. Selling for more would be pretty tough I think based on some others I've seen for sale, but I'd be glad to entertain higher offers :-). Even though most folks here are informed about the issue, no one wants to see a replaced engine on their Carfax report. I've seen similarly optioned/mileage cars for sale private party for $20,000 - $21,000. So I feel $18,000 takes some of the hit for the replaced engine. Plus I'm looking to make a quicker sale. Hope that clears things up! |

I have been wrestling in my head with the manual -> auto switch, but I get stuck in that awful Alewife RT-2 traffic for 20 minutes stop and go daily, and it's just aggravating at this point. |

Nice price. I think most WRX's on this board are overpriced and reality is different from asking or posted prices. That was my experience buying and selling here.
Your warranty is transferable with a fee if I recall correctly. Ask them. |
