Default 2012 PSCC SCCA RallyCross @ Red Hook, NY (Dutchess County)

Great news!

The Poughkeepsie Sports Car Club has announced the 2012 Rallycross series. All events will again be held at the rock free fields of Greig Farm in Redhook, New York. (Dutchess County)

Map of site: http://g.co/maps/g3yqd
The dates are:
April 15th
June 10th
September 23rd
October 21st

All events dates at the farm are weather dependent. Please check http://www.psccny.com the before the event in cause we need to reschedule. We try to avoid mud fests. Lunch orders will be taken at registration by a local Deli. They will deliver it so you do not have to leave the site. The cost of lunch is not included in the registration fee.

Online registeration is open on motorsportreg http://pscc.motorsportreg.com. The price to compete is $35 for SCCA members and $50 for non SCCA members.

Please check http://psccny.com for more information.

Here is a link to some in car video from our last event.

Yes! I'm in. How much damage will this event cause my car? I'm just weary about that part.

That is a question I cannot answer.

The site has no rocks or gravel. The day before the organizers will spend a great deal of time designing a course to be fun yet easy on the cars. They also will change the course a few times during a event to move away from ruts that develop.
There is a few things you can do to minimize damage to your ride. You should raise the tire pressure to something higher than you run on the street. This is to stop the tire from debeading on the rim. I run mine right at the Max. Mudflaps will not hurt. I have seen many people use blue painters tape to protect their fenders and front lip from chips. And of course the way you drive means a lot.
Make sure your car is in decent shape. Check to make sure the the exhaust is not about to fall off, and the wheel bearings and ball joints are not loose. Your car is going to need a good cleaning after the event.

I see many Subarus run event after event and not have any major issues.

Mark

These is no spectator fee. You just need to sign a waiver. IF you want, ask one of the officials and you could get our in the field and work one of the flagging stations. Training is free.

This is a good question. If you can simply dial in some added ride height I would go a lightly higher than stock. This way if ruts start developing, you will not have to worry about touching your undercarriage again the dirt.

That said, I run our last event with an 89 Integra set at stock height and did not have an issue. I had a few clumps of grass on the undercarriage which came off in the car wash.

Here is a video of one of my runs which turned out to be the 2nd fastest 2wd time of the day.

That's a different Mark. This thread's starter is Mark L. and he drives either a Volvo, a Civic, or an Integra. You're thinking of Mark V. Yes I would imagine his red wagon will be there. It always is.

Mike, are you going to run right wheel drive this event?

I doubt it will be done in time, lots of custom parts to be fabricated still, but eventually we are going to dual!

Man that is lucky! I've never been able to attend a rallycross that wasn't at least 75 minutes from home. And with NER events, twice that.

I need to put my spare car together so I can run one of these events after two years of wanting to.

I only live 20 mins from Gregs, but I'd rather not break my daily and my STi isn't really off-road worthy anymore....

I love autocrossing and this looks like so much fun but in all honestly it feels quite abusive to the car...

Getting my car prepped for this one, last time was OK but car was drifting way to easily with frozen adjustment knob on my rear struts on street stiff setting. Should be more comfortable weather by then running without AC hopefully.
