Default Hi from a new WRX owner in Halifax

Greetings fellow East Coast Canadians! I posted an introduction in the Newbie forum but would like to see if anyone is frequenting the forum from Nova Scotia/Atlantic Canada and if there is any kind of a community out here so I can start to learn more about local drives, etc...

Yeah, not a whole lot of force induction around here in Canada. Must be the gas prices.

hey! welcome!

try subaruclub.ca for something local. I think it is mostly New Brunswick though. I am in Newfoundland, there is absolutely nothing here LOL. There is a little in St John's but I am 7 hours from there.

I drive a 2009 STI and a 2005 WRX sedan

Currently living in Sydney, NS (Cape Breton)... lol. Subarus in general are rare up here, let alone WRXs or STIs.

Don't have my subaru anymore, but there used to be a good following of subaru owners in Halifax and Moncton.

try subaruclub.ca, we used to do meetings, annual camping trips, and go to rallyX and autoX events. Just need someone to take the lead and get stuff done.

Online.
tirerack.com has good shipping for Canucks.

For what its worth, Valley Tire in Bridgewater can get performance parts for subarus, and also does servicing. The owner is a great guy and owns multiple subarus, including a rally car that he used for Targa and Rally Baie des Chaleurs.
Steve is great to deal with, and may be able to hook you up.

Also in NS, a fellow member was importing and reselling JDM parts.
on subaruclub.ca he goes by Kemo.2 I think. He had good deals for wheels, seats, and other items.

For tuning B2 Tuning in Saint Margaret's bay is one of the better tuners in Canada. He used to work for Rocket Rally in BC (Pat Richard).

I don't usually troll the forums, but when I DO, I see people I have not seen in a long time.

subaruclub.ca is where you go to talk to the locals in the Maritimes. armsinc.ca is a good spot for fun motorsport stuff to do.

I tend to buy all my parts from the US. With the Canadian $ near par, it always seems cheaper.

I've bought most of my tires from tirerack.com and several sets of wheels. For Rotas, I would try wheeldude.com. If you want to buy in Canada, you could always troll the www.toronto-subaru-club.com forums for ideas. They have an active community.
