It's very possible that the next gen Outback could see a 3rd row. The Forester looks to be growing, and the Tribeca looks to be going away.

Probably my number one complaint of what our cars don't offer.

Because the rear of an outback is so heavy?

It is a totally unneeded, expense and weight adding feature. I have never once in my life wished for a lift gate in our 07 outback one single time ever. I would not want it. Keep it simple and it will last.

Well I own 2010 OB, try and carry to kids and what ever to the trunk you will want it then, many others in the class offer it as an option.

I would only need the 3rd now a several times a year but know as the kids grown it will come in handy. talk about a tight fit try 3 car seats in the second row

I have kids, and I do, often. Even when he was a toddler, we did it. It is just simply not that big a deal.

Three cars seats, not sure how you even did that. A typical rear facing car seat is about the size of a fiat 500 these days.

Power lift is more for the wife!

One rear facing and two high back booster seats= tight fit

We get a wide range of customers that wish that we had it. The majority of the sales we LOSE over it are elderly that pretty much have to have it.

I am sure that is true, when you reach near the $30ish K mark people are looking for those little bells and extra comfort items

SOA has released 2013 Outback and Legacy pricing yesterday to the dealers. JustyWRC are you allowed to disclose the pricing to potential customers interested in 2013's?

If they released the pricing I would. I haven't seen it yet. Not sure who has. It wasn't posted on Subarunet yet. Just checked before this post and still hasn't been put up yet.

The word was that pricing was released, but as of 5pm PST the Subaru dealer website had not been updated. Apparently it can take up to 24 hours for the system to update completely. Hopefully the dealers will have pricing info today. Crossing my fingers.

This was just posted by a member over on the Subaru Outback Forum:

"Here's is what I have been able to learn this morning:

My local dealer emailed me at 7 a.m. (PDT) to tell me that the Subaru computer network for dealers has not posted prices or opened up orders. Normally, subarunet updates overnight, so that would imply that we won't hear anything new until tomorrow.

I then called my contact at SOA. She originally claimed that my information was incorrect and that the information had been posted. She seemed to be implying that my dealer didn't know how to access it. However, she called me back soon thereafter to say that she had checked, and SOA has indeed run into further delays. She says they are working on it and that the present estimate is that everything should be up by tomorrow."

I agree. Those are much nicer looking than the '12 or '13 wheels.

At SOA? Cherry Hill? Or regional person. I noticed you are on the west coast.

You sound like the perfect candidate for a minivan with power sliding doors.

They are going to allow inventory to build on dealer lots before ordering is available that way sold orders don't suck all the cars and MY13 inventory starts off crappy.

Is that to say that orders won't open until mid-July, order builds won't start until then, or that's when they expect to start delivering the earliest customer orders?

That is when the sold order system would open. Where people can custom order their car. The MY13s are being built now and should be on dealer lots in mass first of July. Some will surely hit late June for the nice big dealers. As we all know with SOA, that could certainly change.

I would think that when the system opens, the earliest delivery for those would be the end of July to first of August.
