Default Anybody Want to Rent a Trailer?

Hey, I figure it never hurts to ask....

Decided to suck it up and have a go at SCCA Solo Nationals in Topeka the week of Sept 9. Managed to get the Rex on top of our regional STX class. May get my butt kicked in Topeka, but gonna try to put on a good showing. I think I have a chance of surprising a few folk.... got a major suspension upgrade in last week; be dialing it in at a Test & Tune this weekend.

Not surprisingly, I'm really struggling with $$ issues. For a lot of reasons, I'd like to trailer the car there (saving the Azenis, fitting spare tires/tools/camping gear, and my son in the car...)

I've got a commercial trailer rental lined up; they want $270 for 5 days.

Does anybody have, or know of a better alternative??

Thanx, guys,

len

Throw on a set of old rear tires, disconnect the drive shaft and rent a car dolly from uhaul. Not sure the price though.

I emailed my boss to ask if he'd be interested in renting you one of his trailers - the one I have in mind isn't specifically an auto hauling trailer. It is a flatbed, maybe 12' long with a set of ramps to drive a vehicle onto. Last time someone borrowed it one of the hubs failed and the wheel came flying off (luckily it is 2 axle). It got fixed that time but I'd be suspicious of the other 3 hubs. Anyway, it might be a cheap rental but as usual you get what you pay for - I'll let you know what he says.

Sorry, the scumbag wants $75/day - not sure where he came up with that - it's laughable (if I could figure out how to add a little laughing face I would)

Hope to see you at the T&T - I won't be driving - not going to nats and don't have anything I can adjust anyway (seat position? steering wheel angle?). I do want to check out that lot though and I can't wait to see that hunkered down wagon.

Hey, Robert,
First, thanks for the try at a trailer. Glad to say I got word back yesterday on one of my other feelers; a nice rig for $100 for a week, and its in Ft Collins.
Second, it'll be really good to see ya. I passed on last weekend to save tire resources. With your pending move south, it'll be good to see you before you go.
Getting it on the track will tell the real story, but I gotta say, I LOVE the way the new struts and springs feel on the street; I've got a seriously better car under me, and not much time to dial it in, and make appropriate driving adjustments. Mark's planning on making the TnT, too (like you, not going to Nats). Let's get our heads together, and see what we can do to get to a good setup. Mark was kind enough to loan me a spare set of rims; put my 1/2 worn S0-3s on them, to save some wear on the Azenis, and have a spare/rain set for Topeka.
See ya Sunday, and thanks, again.
