So where exactly is this at in Colorado? I might have to make a trip down for one of these.

I'm working on a site in Grand Island, NE here soon and that would help out my SCCA region as we have yet to get someone to provide a site for rally-x. We all drive down to Fort Scott Kansas for an event (4 hours away).

Thanks - Jon

Post Directions

From Nebraska go south on I-76 till you reach Brighton, about 20 miles NE of Denver. Exit Hwy 7 and proceed West. About 100 feet before you reach I-25 turn left (south) along the frontage road. Drive south past the 470 construction site and turn right just before you reach a small bridge. You should see cones, cars and dirt.

From Denver go north on I-25. Turn right at Hwy 7. Go about 100 feet and turn right (south) on the frontage road. Turn right before the bridge. We will try to put up signs.

Try to get there by 8. First runs start at 9am.

You can save five bucks if you preregister at www.coloradorally.com

Most Subarus are in PGT or Open Class. Most guys run street tires though some have rally tires. The infamous Re-92's work pretty good for this. 2nd and 3rd in PGT last time! Just pump them up so you don't pop them off a rim.

The stock tie downs are fine. Make sure you use them...

Most people run the car completely stock- I have rally tires because I got them cheap (rally teams throw them out with a lot of tread left). You just need yourself, your car, and 30 bucks or so (I don't remember how much- see www.coloradorally.org). And sunscreen and some water.

Thumbs up Good job guys!

We are still awaiting official results, but unofficially from my rough guess it looks like Jeremey won PGT on his second time out and Phil was second on his first time out! Meanwhile the championship leaders who shouild know what we are doing amassed over 72 seconds in penalties! You can't win doing that! Jeremy, no cones, awesome! Thanks for the photo too! I thought it was cool watching the Colorado National Speedway trailers slowing down on I-25 to watch us. Probably not very safe though. A couple more i-club members were observing and might join us next time. Did you notice every car in PGT was a Subaru?

Yep Jeremy, I think I'm going to be cleaning dirt from my car for the next year. It looks clean on the outside, but dirt still seeps out from everywhere on the car. Oh well... But was it a surprise that Subies dominated?

Looking forward to seeing you guys in the dirt again.

Phil

i hit 8 on my last 3 runs and 3 on my first 3.

Stupid 2 wheel drive.

Talking Second?!?!?

I came in second overall!!!

(in number of cone and off course penalties, that is)

But it was still fun. The 323GTX was really fast, especially when it got on boost. The Cog should be fun!

Talking Good Sport

Keith, you are a good sport and a humorous person all around. Atleast you aren't whining about it. Not that anyone has but it could happen. There is always something good to come from everything. Laters, J

You can't beat 12 minutes of sideways!

FYI CART is at SCR till Wednesday. My inside information says that they were too cheap for a private session. So if you show up and sign the waiver your in. Of course if too many people show up then they may shut it down.

Practice first gear slaloms in deep sand.

Actually, most of the people who do well have nearly stock cars, and just are good drivers who control their cars really well in the typical tight courses.

Talking Well said.

Keith, well said. I don't know of anyone who's won on their first event. Phil came close but I had to keep that from happening. He he. I agree with his advise because on my first event, which I took 3rd and not first, I was unprepared for the highly technical course on my first run but finally got it together and did well only by driving without penalties. Penalties are a killer. Laters, J
