Default Bye bye legacy gt!

So I ran by conti today to order a legacy gt. Was pretty excited to make the car the way I wanted. Finally I would have an interior to suit my adult side with a turbo to satisfy the kid in me. 6 speed manual, leather heated seats, sporty look? Sounds great! But to my suprise, before I could even build my sexy new car I got slapped with a fist full of discontinued.

Wtf mate!?

Not discontinued. There's been a big fuss over this on lgt.com. They're holding production while they revamp it for the new year.

I believe it was a bad move on Subaru's part to make the LGT a 6spd manual only. Most I had ever seen come through Conti when I worked there were all 5 speed sport mode automatics. All the talk was "I want an STi but don't want the big wing" So Subaru went with the 08 STi look. Lots of then LGT owners jumped to the new STi since it looked more "grown up" And then they went manual trans only on turbo LGT. Sales dropped even more.

They will likely step back, redesign and come up with something fresh.

The new redesigned fascia for 2013 Legacy/Outback looks really good! I hope the LGT pulls through on this one.

Also the other touch-ups, like 40% body roll reduction, better fuel economy, more torque and HP don't hurt either. I'm thinking the LGT can come out ahead this year towards feeling more like a performance car.

It's still bull that it's supposedly Order-Only. I think having one on the floor (since it's a Limited-only nowadays) wouldn't hurt anything. I hated the Premium from 2010 that Conti had on the floor for a while. Goo.

Swear the bd/bg Legacy's are the most popular to date and they need to get away from this huge car ****. The new Impreza is the size of a damn 70's Cadillac and I assume the legacy will only be bigger

Aren't these supposed to be compact cars? I say ditch the leather, subs, sunroof, and other gismo crap and build a smaller, 3000lbs and down, 300whp car. Its not much to ask.

This is a good one.

http://www.insideline.com/subaru/leg...auto-show.html

Legacy 2.5GT was discontinued for 2013. It appears all other models including the 3.0R are still being produced under the new front facia.

'Mericans aren't getting any smaller and are demanding more seat room. Proof is in the sales.

Exactly why they've separated the Impreza and the WRX/STI, to get the WRX/STI back to what you're proposing, hopefully my MY2014!

You have to go back a few years for the "compact" sedan!

STI is heavy and USDM has always been 2004+ Impreza-based, which are bigger than the JDM ones from pre-2004.

STi Stats:
Curb weight (sedan) is 3,400lbs, 242whp, and the thing is a size of a tank. And yes the 400+lbs and 60whp makes a huge difference.

I'm just saying, if you ditch all the leather and fancy stuff that the legacy offers, you're left with an impreza.

Sorry, I originally read this as though you were referring to the Impreza. Others have responded to this as your speaking about the Legacy. The Legacy was never supposed to be considered compact. That's what the Loyale/Impreza were made for. The Legacy became bigger to compete with similarly-classed vehicles.

I DO think the Impreza got too big, though, since they based the 2008+ Impreza on the 2005-2009 Legacy platform. I doubt we'll ever see the Legacy shrink.

I wish it was still under 2,800lbs. She got fat and is now 2,940lbs.
