2002 WRX Wagon

Default 2002 WRX with EJ257 block & heads

I'm a potential buyer of a 2002 WRX with an 2004 EJ257 swap (complete long block & heads), STI 6-speed and stock 2002 WRX ECU, harness, intake manifold, injectors, turbo, TMIC.

I'm looking for some input on this setup -- the seller doesn't know specifically if it was professionally tuned or if it's just running a base 2004 STI map.

My main concern is how safe this setup would be and if it would be in my best interest to take the car in to Cobb or some such tuner and ensure things are in order.

Apologies for any vagueness or if this is a dumb question.

If you don't know much about the car, and the seller doesn't, why do you think any of us can help?

Take it to a professional and have it inspected, leak down and compression test completed.
