Default NWIC Cruises

It has been a while since we banned cruises in the NWIC. Lots of people have provided some good feedback on ways to get them back and lots have just complained and pouted. After a lot of discussion we have come to a decision, cruises are back on.

We are coming up on spring and summer car shows and meets so we thought now would be a good time to announce that the ban has been lifted. From what we have seen and heard things have been better during local drives and there haven't been any major issues recently.

All of the details have not been ironed out and there is a possibility that will we switch over to only allowing preapproved cruises that must be approved before posting, but for now it is totally open.

I give it a few months before some douche screws it up for everyone again. Hopefully people will learn at some point.

Good decision, cruises are a part of our car culture that this site should support. I'm confident that members have learned from the past and we should encourage safe and appropriate behavior during future cruises. Is there a plan or set of rules that members can follow to make sure that the ban stays lifted permanently?

Whenever people said we can't say the "C" word I thought it was referring to something else. :P

A lot of people were driving like they shouldn't have been.. Well, closer to two or three people. But this was when Kenny B was big, so I guess it was to be expected. It wasn't even just that people were driving like asshats, but when they'd end up in a ditch, we'd end up with pictures of the accident all over here. It was just super messy, I think most of those people are out of the scene now, so hopefully things will be better this go around!

Yayy cruises!

I am glad that cruises are back on. I've always wanted to cruise around with a bunch of subies.

Can't the moderators or the person running the cruise ask for a valid license and proof of insurance before the cruise begins?

Can ask all day but they don't have to provide it to you.

Maybe I just don't "get it" but what is the point of these, assuming ALL traffic laws are adhered to?

You'd be amazed how fun it can be cruising with 10-20 other like-minded and similar cars. Traffic laws are easy to adhere to for the most part because most cruises are off the "beaten path" so to speak...be it a national park drive, the freeway, or major cruising highways such as Hwy 9 or 522 (or whichever the one is between 405 and Enumclaw).
