Default Launch control??

Can anyone explain to me simply what exactly launch control is and how it works. I read a few things abut it through some threads related to carberry(witch I don't understand either) and was wondering if anyone wanted to break some of this stuff done for me.

Launch control is kind of like your rev limiter. It temporarily limits your revs by either fuel or ignition cut. This allows you to be able to launch at a constant rpm and not have to feather the gas. You can basicly just hold your gas pedal to the floor and just worry about the clutch.

Let me just add that fuel-cut is the way the stock rev limiter works, and it's the most common method for a launch control rev limiter.

With spark cut, fuel continues to spray, and it accumulates in the exhaust tract. When combustion resumes, the hot exhaust gas tends to ignite the fuel droplets in the exhaust pipes, creating pops and bangs, and occasionally breaking things.

Check the Carberry thread. Not a ROM for a novice at all. It's far more than just launch control. It's switches to speed density. I would leave it alone unless you have some experience with tuning EFI vehicles and have a pretty good understanding of how these systems work.
