The interior looks kind of old.

As for the exterior, gotta see it in person. They are putting the styling cues from the Maxima.

I work at a Nissan dealership and every time the Altima is designed it rides the coat tales of the previous Maxima, without fail.

Well I have to say the Maxima is a car that pisses me off to no end. It has some VERY sexy lines going down the side and back, but the powertrain just kills it for me. NO way the 4DSC should have a CVT.

^ Agreed. The Maxima is really good looking but entirely boring otherwise. Make it RWD and muscular since the Altima is now just as big.

Interior on that altima is not very fresh.

High sales volume car for those who want basic reliable transportation with a few bells and whistles.
Real close in style to a dozen other cars on the market.

The grill reminds me of this scene from Men in Black.

"There. Is that better?!?"

lol no. It's a mid-sized family sedan, which is also the most competitive market segment.

The pictures is hard to judge, maybe the materials are very high quality. The Altima always had a tackier interior, maybe this time they want it more business.

That would make it a G37.... The max has been doomed Since the Altima started growing.

She's a big girl. At least they put the USS Enterprise tail lights in check. Not my cup of tea, but I'm sure it'll outsell the Maxima big time.

sure it will, since the Maxima costs roughly $10,000 more, Base MSRP. Add yet another $10,000 and you have a G37 (best rental car ever!)

The Maxima is Nissan's flagship sedan. Also, it's higher end and more luxurious car. I believe also bigger and roomier than the G37.

Like Toyota's Avalon, I don't think the Max is gonna go away.

It would also make it what it's purported to be all these decades, a four door Z car.

G37 is a 4-seat coupe Z, and a 4-door Z.

A Maxima is no longer a 4DSC, even though a 4-door sports car is an oxymoron. A sports car is defined by having two seats, and minimum size wrap around the hardware.

Maxima is becoming Nissan's sportier-image Avalon and Azera competitor. weird sub-lux FWD full-size sedans. Taurus has joined them, when it used to be mid-size a while ago, before the "500" episode of it's history.

Believe it or not, the little Hyundai Elantra has more interior volume than the current Maxima

Good locking car, I am glad they didn't over design the interior. I could see myself driving one of these if the engine and CVT can really put down the power when needed. And if the seats are really as good as they claim. I do a lot of long distance driving, seats are never good enough...
