Default Will this shortblock fit?

So I'm throwing together a "just in case"/better shortblock for my ej20g. I'm trying to do calculations right now in order to determine which headgasket I need to procure to make this work.

EJ20G V2 WRX Heads (44cc) w/ EJ20G Electronics/Powerfc

Shortblock

2002 WRX EJ205
2001 JDM V7 STI Pistons
2001 JDM V7 STI Rods
2002 WRX Crankshaft
ACL Race Bearings
ARP Studs
Subaru Gasket refresh kit
Headgaskets of undetermined thickness.

reuse brand new timing belt/pulley/old style ej20g piston tensioner (everything has less than 2k on it)

Will this work?

according the Marnix's chart, it would be 8.3 compression ratio with gasket 11044AA483 (.8mm) or probably 8.6 with 11044AA650 (.56mm) (but that might not be enough clearance for the piston). it might be cheaper to use USDM EJ257 rods since they are also forged

I was planning on ej257 as a backup.

I think 8.6:1 is more attractive to me since I'm also looking for increased driveability.

i have had a similar set up .

you should use the late belt tensioner (for properly tensioning the belt).
