Not trying to hate but just a tip so you don't get haters. If you have a question or something that doesn't need to be discussed in a new thread just ask it in the OT thread.

^^ I hear ya on that one, but it's just that us Fairbanks guys almost need our own sub-section. Hence "Fairbanks" being in the title. There are a lot of you Anchorage guys on here, and if we had a specific question pertaining to just Fairbanks, it gets lost in the other AKIC threads.

On topic now, talk to northpolerex and see if he needs some beer. Otherwise there are lots of places that can mount your tires. I usually go to either Ken's Fairbanks Alignment because i've known them for a while and I like the guys there to BS with. Or I go to TDS because they just do tires, and are pretty good to deal with too.

Do yourself a favor and get another set of wheels and just do the change-over yourself.

Make a Fairbanks OT thread. Just a suggestion.

What DOM said about the fairbanks thing, I rarely check OT. I've always used Alyeska tire, I think it's $60 total for dismount, mount and balance on all fours. They're also the only Toyo dealer and I swear by their winter tires.

On another note, I've heard nothing but terrible things about Ken's.

I guess it is personal preference but I dealt with Ken's a long long time ago and I personally have never gone back. I do like TDS though. As said earlier they are very easy to deal with.

I wouldn't bring my wheel barrel to Ken's for them to work on... Let alone my WRX.

We had some rules change at work... But if you can get the tires/rims off the car and give me everything to swap over I'll do it for you. $30 sound fair?

Negative. New manager.... He isn't cool like the old one. So it's either do it at like 11pm... Or take em off at your house and we can swap em over at the shop.

Granny, Im not trying to argue nor disrespect you but I do not see how this falls into an off topic thread. As you can see this is an actual topic. I can see if I was just posting something at random but this is a valid question which became a conversation (on this subject only). The reason this is striking interest for me is that the last post I put up was apparently and off topic post also. The way I see it is is it had to do with our Subies than it is a valid topic. Now if I want to go on there and ask where the best place to get my dog groomed is, then I can see it being an off topic post. There are plenty of posts on here that are in the same category as mine and I see no flak coming there direction.

Like I said about Ken's, I know some of the guys there, and therefore that's why I've gone there. They mounted a set of my tires and wheels for this winter, and all was good. Ken treats me well, and I can BS with the guys I know while I'm waiting. Otherwise, I tend to do most work on my own, and not take my vehicles anywhere. I'm too broke to pay people to work on my stuff. Unfortunate truth.

Hey Squirrel, if you need a spare set of wheels to put on your rig while you take the your wheels in somewhere, I can probably find something you could borrow for a few hours or days.

But, yeah, if you need to take it somewhere, I'd still suggest TDS.

i normally go to american tire and auto, since they are a 1 minute walk from work, to get my tires changed from studded to summers. other than that there are alot of good tire places in town that do a good job.
